A2A updates and now cannot install the GTN 750

Featured Replies

Hello, today A2A updated the 182 and Cherokee.  So when I went to make a flight there was no GTN 750, so try as I might to install it I can't get the GTN 750 to install.

Can anyone please help?

Thanks.

Hello,

Just run the A2A C182 aircraft configurator and the A2A Cherokee aircraft configurator and add the GTN.

Cheers!

System Specs: Ryzen 9 5900X, Gigabyte Aorus Master mobo, 32 Gb Corsair Vengeance Lpx DDR4 memory, MSI RTX 3070 Ti Gaming X Trio 8G video card.

Last time I looked, the RXP GTN 750 was not directly supported by a2a... so what happened here?  Today a2a updated the 182?

Bert

Did you back up your panel.cfg file from before?  And if so did that not work?  And were the updates for FSX?  P3D? xPlane?

Thanks but that's only for the F1 GTN, it doesn't show a Reality GTN.

Yes, the 182 and the Cherokee.  I installed the Reality GTN 750 yesterday and they worked perfectly.  Today the A2A 182 and Cherokee were updated and now I can't get the Reality XP GTN 750 to install in either plane.

It never occurred to me to back up that file.

There were no updates for FSX, P3D, and X-Plane.

I'm running P3D 4.5

It never did, as best I know.

What do you mean "they were updated"?

I ran the A2A updater on the 182 and Cherokee and they were updated today.

And after the updater I wanted to make a flight, loaded the 182 and had the original GPS, the default one.

So I ran the GTN Add-On app exactly as I ran it yesterday for all the other planes.

Nothing I do will install the GTN.

So they only thing that's different is the A2A updates.

Not one other thing has changed on my PC.

Yes, I know this, only the Bonanza has that option for the Reality XP GTN 750.

Running the a2a Config app, installs the "other" GTN which I thought you also had installed on your system...

If you want the RXP GTN to show, you need to subsequently run the RXP addon app that replaces the other GTN by the RXP GTN.   Same as yesterday...

I still do not understand why you "updated" the C182.. do you know something I do not?

I have not updated my C182...

I no longer have the Flight1 GTN installed.  This was the whole point of buying Reality’s version.

Now here’s what I did yesterday.

1) Uninstalled the F1 GTN 750.

2) Installed the Reality GTN 750.

3) Ran P3D and installed the GTN 750 in all my planes that use it.  It worked great.

4) A2A released updates today for the 182 and Cherokee so I updated them.

5) Ran P3D and saw that both planes had no GTN anymore so I tried to install it via the Add-On in P3D.  It doesn’t install it.

Why did I update?  Because there was an update.

Jack, if it's any solace I updated my 182 and Cherokee last week (the update was released on March 10) and had no problems, although I did indeed have to reinstall my GTN's in both birds.  Following your chronology above, did you do step 4(a)... running the Aircraft Configurator(s) for the 182 and Cherokee to install the GTN frame in the panel?  This must be done first before trying to install the RXP Garmins.  If after running the Aircraft Configurator can you see the GTN frame in the panel?

Hope you get it sorted soon.  Push comes to shove, we have quite a few panel.cfg's around this place to share.

Thanks Greg, I appreciate it.

This is what I did.  I created an Acronis global backup last night.  So I opened it and copied over the panel files for both planes and it worked except I got the DLL missing little square box.  But it went away after I ran the Add-On app from Reality.

Now, I never knew I had to go to the Config tool from A2A for the Reality gauge but I did know to go there for the F1 gauge.

I wish the manual was a little more clear about this with A2A planes.

So now both of those planes are working with the GTN, no pop-up DLL box and all is well.

If I knew I'd have this many hassles I would have stuck with F1.

What annoys me most is on Reality's main screen where I bought it, there are testimonials saying how great their customer service is, I have to differ.  Maybe I'll stand corrected as there might be a time difference, I don't know.  But I have another open post with no replies, none.

One more thing Greg, sorry. When I go to those A2A configurators, which box exactly do I have to tick?  The F1 one or Reality?
