Anyone using WOAI in P3Dv4?

With so much time to kill indoors these days I have been actually attempting little projects I had shelved long before.  This is one of them.  Yes, I do have Alpha India Group's superb app and AI installed.  Amazing stuff there.  But it is all the latest paints.  My favorite airport of all time is Kai Tak and thought it would be nice to throw back in there aircraft and paints from yesteryear... like the 90's.   I figured good 'ol World of AI era files would be the best chance to capture some of those but I need true FSX models to work in P3Dv4.  So far little luck in finding them and converting them myself... well let's just say I don't have THAT much time on my hands, ha! 😄

Any simmer out there done something similar to get vintage AI into P3Dv4 (and as of tomorrow into P3Dv5).

Happy flyin',

Full array of Bravo, Saitek and GoFlight hardware for the cockpit. Varjo and HP VR headsets for mixed reality.

WOAI is mostly old FS9 models, and they won't work in P3D. I believe there was someone here on Vatsim that made a lot of old AI planes, try a seach in the file library.

There's even some today from Michael Pearson.

I believe that there is a utility that converts those planes to a format that will work in FSX or P3D.

Yeah, I use a lot of Mr. Pearson's FAIB repaints for Kai Tak traffic. I'm still on FSX so can still use older stuff, but I believe one can still compile AI flight plans the old fashioned way.

Do be sure to convert the flightplans to the newer format though, otherwise all other traffic will disappear 😱. AIFP can do this, apparently

I'd be very careful in selecting the AI models to be absolutely sure they are compatible with your platform, namely older models in p3d. Otherwise you’re in for a CTD fest - be warned!
