AIG Manager
Dave, you may have just made my day! I don't know why, but I've just assumed since it was released the AIM/OCI was P3D only, as there wasn't anything obvious pointing to FSX compatibility. Granted I didn't look too hard because I was happy with what I had, but I'll definitely explore further. Thank you!

AIG Manager
Nope. You might want to try AIFP. That's about as close as you'll get in FSX. It's not as automated as I believe OCI is, but it gets the job done.

Pmdg 737 ngx flight time
Airlines tend to stretch out their schedules to take into account various delays pre departure (taxiing, late PAX, small tech faults, ATC, enroute holding) so that fewer flights arrive late. if everything goes perfectly (as it often does in FS), you arrive early. Happens in real life too, albeit very rarely

Do you log flight hours?
LOL 1900hrs ish since March this year (When I finally moved to FSX!) Since I started in 1999 maybe 20k plus. Easily

Help with manual Star with ILS approach
The 744 gets a bit weird in certain situations. For example, when I forget to hit the APPR button and configure for landing (it happens) it takes some coaxing to set up a new arrival. Try setting up the route in the FMC (eg. CYYZ to CYYZ) while still on the ground, then slew to the STAR starting point. If that doesn't work then perform a simple takeoff (On a taxiway or grass or whatever) clean up, then slew. Good luck!

FSX cured my fear of flying
"Watch this!" is always the precursor to major mess-ups, and has the added bonus of making you look even more of an idiot. Whether flying, driving or using a microwave, start cautiously, dip your toes in the water. Be daring within the limits of your own ability. Push the limits of your comfort zone tiny tiny baby steps at a time. Most importantly remember you always have more to learn. That way you are always aware that you aren't invincible. Unfortunately a lot of people lack the presence of mind to be aware of what they can and can't do, and promptly eradicate themselves from the gene pool.

United's 747's
They are now totally based at SFO to make it easier to carry out maintenance; rather than have 744 mx guys and equipment littered around the US, they keep it all at SFO. The only route outside SFO is LAX-SYD, but I don't know how long that will last. UA don't seem to get the 744 reliability that NW (and now DL) seemed to enjoy, probably because a bunch spent good few years languishing in the desert. Also NW were launch customers and based most of their longest haul routes around the 744 for a good 20 years. Whatever happens UA have a very capable fleet of 772s, for which they were launch customers, and it has been a stalwart of the fleet constantly since '95. It has now taken over LH from IAD and ORD, supported by 767s and even the 75' for thinner EU routes (courtesy of CO at EWR). Any corrections would be much appreciated! Rashid
