Great post Pike and I'd really like to hear the answers to those questions. One of my coworkers walked into my office 30 minutes ago and said to me "Hey sir, I saw that microsoft flight sim commercial last night. It looked like that 747 was stuttering pretty bad or something." My coworker doesn't play flight sims.

Why don't you scold the original poster for stating something like that without factual data to back it up??? All he's going by is the thread count. Many left the issue alone and went back to flying... If this was a neutral thread like the ones I promised to stop commenting on I could see. I for one decided to let you guys have your fun and return to FSX in a year. That doesn't mean I won't be reading the FSX forum to keep up on what's going on. When someone post a thread with a title like this one, their asking for it. Then here comes guys like you for what ever reason refusing to look at the whole situation in context...Bill this thread started off wrong, slam the original poster...

Real flying is very expensive and out of reach for some. This is the next best thing; of course we're going to be passionate about it...You'd get worse results from sports fanatics about the Football. Here you have guys on the team making millions of dollars throwing a ball charging tax payers millions to build their stadiums. Many of those very same tax payers then turn around and fight each other over which team is better instead of standing up apposing the fact their getting royally ripped off. I'd take the FS Community any day... :-)

There is absolutely no value, no contribution, and certainly nothing positive out of this post. If you ask me, the "whiners" at least add to the discussions in the form of pointing out flaws and in some cases contributing to solutions.Yes I agree. People will state it the way they see it. And calling them "whiners" only ratched's up the rhetoric so the original poster can't expect his lack of respect to posters to be reciprocated with particular kindness.

I need to clarify.I have absolutely no problem with people pointing out flaws in the sim. #### I've found a few myself!However there's been an increasing number of posts with people saying "LOL FSX is stupid M$ are ripping us off!!1" with no real content or contribution. I think "cheerleader" is another term for a really excited user.Yes I love FSX, but I also realise it's not perfect. What I do see though is the potential for it.I know that hardware in 1 year from now will be FAR more advanced than what we have at the moment. I've been keeping track of all of the information about hardware developments on the net. In my opinion the sim may have been released too early, but I'm ok with that.Like I said I have no problem with people posting constructive critisisms, I'm just sick of people bagging FSX with nothing else do add other than "because it sucks and M$ are evil LOL".James

Right now I am getting no more than 8-9 FPS at KSEA (after tweaks). With the settings moved to the right and mesh, landclass, ai, weather and aircraft addons it would be no more than 1-2 FPS (c64 perf). Wheres a system thats going to run at least 12 times faster to get smooth fps?? The DX10 'fact sheet' says it will run "up to 5 times faster" than DX9, and the MS rep said "up to 8 times faster". Well it won't cut the mustard even if true.
