April 17, 20206 yr I have installed the excellent Global AI Ship Traffic by Henrik Nielsen using the add-on.xml method into P3Dv5 with great results! No issues that I can see so far. Here's some screen shots around Boston. [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
April 17, 20206 yr Would you mind sharing how you installed it via the add-on.xml method? Greetings, Chris AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 2x32GB DDR5 6000MT/s RAM, MSI RTX 4090 Ventus 3X, Windows 11 Home, MSFS2024

EDIT: Realized the text gets all mangled when copying from that PDF. So here's my own quick guide; Drop the Global_AI_Ship_Traffic_V2 folder, into your designated P3Dv5 addons location. By default "Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons". Make sure when you open Global_AI_Ship_Traffic_V2, you see Effects, Images, scenery etc. Then you can use my add-on.xml file: https://1drv.ms/u/s!Agvp_3yFADWen2ZBtP0JHUudBHr9?e=fGGS0X (Press download on top of the text, to download the .xml itself), drop that into the Global_AI_Ship_Traffic_V2 folder and you should be prompted to enable it next time you start P3D. Set your ship traffic to at least 5% to activate, then load up and wait a few minutes for traffic to slowly saturate the world. Enjoy. April 17, 20206 yr The new water makes the ships bounce up and down in choppy water. There's no longitudinal or lateral roll with the waves. Edited April 17, 20206 yr by kevinfirth Kevin Firth - AMD 9800X3D; Asus Prime X670E; 64Gb Cas30 6000 DDR5; RTX5090; AutoFPS

April 18, 20206 yr its good isnt it.? Im able to have my slider to 100% on ships and 50% on leisure boats and still rocking 30fps! in California

It's essentially just becomes an on / off switch. How do you make this work if you want to have one location for the ship traffic but install into V4 and v5 ? Mark CYYZ

You could just make a copy of the Global_AI_Ship_Traffic_V2 folder with the add-on.xml into 'Prepar3D v4 Add-ons' in your documents folder, I assume. Then v4 should pick it up as well. Assuming you have the files in P3Dv5, your paths for v4.5 would be something like this, just replace my name with your user folder: Quote <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <SimBase.Document Type="AddOnXml" version="4,0" id="add-on"> <AddOn.Name>Global AI Ship Traffic V2</AddOn.Name> <AddOn.Description>Global AI Shipping by Henrik Nielsen</AddOn.Description> <AddOn.Component> <Category>SimObjects</Category> <Path>C:\Users\ScottGridley\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\Global_AI_Ship_Traffic_V2\SimObjects\Boats</Path> </AddOn.Component> <AddOn.Component> <Category>SimObjects</Category> <Path>C:\Users\ScottGridley\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\Global_AI_Ship_Traffic_V2\SimObjects\Animals</Path> </AddOn.Component> <AddOn.Component> <Category>Scenery</Category> <Path>C:\Users\ScottGridley\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\Global_AI_Ship_Traffic_V2\Scenery\World\Scenery</Path> <Name>Global AI shipping traffic</Name> </AddOn.Component> <AddOn.Component> <Category>Effects</Category> <Path>C:\Users\ScottGridley\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\Global_AI_Ship_Traffic_V2\Effects</Path> </AddOn.Component> <AddOn.Component> <Category>Sound</Category> <Path>C:\Users\ScottGridley\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\Global_AI_Ship_Traffic_V2\Sound</Path> </AddOn.Component> </SimBase.Document> Edited April 18, 20206 yr by Gridley typos [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
