April 21, 20206 yr Hi there, I recently purchased the PMDG 747-400 and 747-8 expansion pack just a few weeks ago and im planning to purchase the 777-200 as well. I am also planning to purchase MSFS2020 when it is realeased and I am wishing to use my PMDG 747 in it. Although I worried if I have to buy a new one. I know that PMDG is switching its entire focus to the new platform MSFS2020 and that they will also stop sale of PMDG products for other simulators. Knowing that I will be purchasing the PMDG 777 soon, I'd rather use both 747 and 777 in one simulator. So I am wondering if I can use my 747 I purchased for MSFS2020. I've heard and people have told me that I won't need to buy a new queen of the skies since I can just use the one I have for FSX. I just want to make sure of this since I havent seen any information on this.
April 21, 20206 yr Administrators I have moved your topic into the Microsoft Flight Simulator forum. You may get better answers here. April 21, 20206 yr My advice! Enjoy your PMDG 747 and hold 777 until release MSFS 2020, but I believe that you must buy again yours addon to use in MSFS. José Luís | Flightsimulator: | MSFS | Add-Ons: | PMDG Douglas DC-6 | PMDG 737-700 | Fenix A320 | Maddog X MD82| FSW CESSNA 414AW CHANCELLOR ||
April 21, 20206 yr Porting aircraft into MSFS may be a step to far it uses different flight dynamics to interact with the aircraft, so you require an aircraft built for MSFS I think you will find. Raymond Fry.
April 21, 20206 yr PMDG have confirmed the 737 NGXu to be available for MSFS 🙂 Tomáš Pokorný SYSTEM -> CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K @ 5.0 GHz | GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 Ti @ 2027 MHz | RAM: 2x8 GB G.Skill Trident RGB 3200 MHz | MOBO: AsRock Z370 Extreme 4 | SSD: Kingston 256 GB, Samsung 860 EVO 1 TB | HDD: Western Digital 1 TB | CPU COOLER: Corsair H115i | CASE: Corsair Obsidian Series 750D | PSU: Seasonic Focus Gold 750W EQUIPMENT -> YOKE: Saitek Pro Flight Yoke System + Throttle Quadrant, Saitek X52 | RUDDER PEDALS: Saitek Pedals | CAMERA: TrackIR 5

PMDG no longer develops or supports products for 32 bit FSX, and they have no plans to do any further development for X-Plane beyond their DC-6 they released a few years ago, but they have not said that they will stop developing for P3D. MSFS may become their flagship product platform if it can support the highly accurate custom systems simulation they are known for, but nobody knows that yet. I doubt very much that their existing P3D products will work directly in MSFS. Ability of using a FSX aircraft in FS20 cannot be excluded as Asobo has hinted of a FSX legacy mode but I certainly wouldn’t bet the farm on it, meaning I would not buy an expensive FSX addon now, expecting to use it in FS20. FS20 should include a 748 but its simulation depth is unknown at this time. April 22, 20206 yr It's also not just the flight dynamics that differ. While in theory WebAssembly should offer downward compatibility (as far as I understood), some devs made it clear that its limiting their ability to implement things the way they were used to. So an easy port of a complex airliner seems pretty much unrealistic. Anyhow, I prefer natively created content. If we got new tech, then products for it should use it! Even if it costs more. Happy with MSFS 🙂 home simming evolved
