May 21, 20206 yr Hi guys, Been years since I've made a post so here we go, thinking of upgrading my PC. Current specs include i5 7600k 16gb ram gtx 1070ti. I've seen the new i7 10700k, do you guys reckon this would be a worthy upgrade at all? i still think the GPU is suffice unless you guys think otherwise. I7 10700K 16GB 3600MHZ RTX3080FE
May 21, 20206 yr If the upgrade is for the new FS, I'd wait. You've got plenty to run FSX/P3D/DCS/whatever you're running now. You can either save money or spend the same amount and get more power if you wait until the new one is out. Ryzen 7 7800X3D/B650 X AX | 5090 | 32gig | Win10 | Pimax Crystal Light

Like eslander said, if you are upgrading with just MSFS2020 in mind, you better wait for the final release of the sim. Until then a lot of new hardware releases can happen, you can find some prices discount etc. If not and you have/want to upgrade right now. the 10700k would be a really nice upgrade (he has the same performance of the 9900k, and this is an awesome CPU). May 21, 20206 yr I'd recommend against upgrading now. The sim won't be out for anoher 5-6 months, AMD will be announcing their 4th gen Ryzen CPU's in September. MSFS. Hardware: AMD 5600X @4.0Ghz, Corsair H100i RGB Pro XT AIO, MSI MPG B550i Gaming Edge WiFi mobo, RTX 3080ti 12GB FE GPU , G.Skill TridentZ Royal 32GB (2x16) DDR4-3600 RAM CL16, PNY XLR8 3030 1 TB SSD (OS + SIM), Crucial P5 1TB M.2 pcie-3 NVMe SSD (data) . Corsair SF750 80+ Platinum PSU, NZXT H200i Mini ITX Tower. 38" LG UltraGear 38GN950-B display. 4x QL120 fans
May 21, 20206 yr I think you'll see a noticeable improvement. But (there is always one of those) you'll also need a new motherboard (socket change) and RAM (current not supported) so the difference may not be worth the cost. Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. Klaatu barada nickto.
May 21, 20206 yr Wait for release ideally. Whether the gpu is ok depends on what settings and resolution combination you’re hoping for.

I’d wait, the new amd processors will drop this year and with the way and have been tearing up the consumer processor and hedt market you may miss out on something amazing. The 10 series is basically a redone 9 series. Very lacklustre.

Very lacklustre. your gpu will probably be alright for 1080p high settings but again - new gpus are coming this year so, I’d just hold of completely if you can. It will be worth waiting.
