I use Brave browser (based on Chrome). Not sure if this counts. Good luck getting that money!

I don't touch anything Google because I have never trusted them for farming browsers usages to flog advertising back to them!

Google does not the word 'privacy'. I do hope they take a severe pasting on this.

I hope so too! Far too rich and high & mighty - they should never be above the law, although they will no doubt afford to pay a legal team enough to have it proven that the Moon is indeed made of cheese....and that the F-35 is the most beautiful aeroplane ever made, now and in the future...😵

Anyone thinking Google will be paying out $5,000 is very optimistic, and I'm not sure there is much merit with this to begin with. Incognito Mode was only ever really about not saving your activity on your own computer. Your online activity can be, and is, tracked using many, many different methods that Incognito Mode has no effect over.

Yup, anyone who thinks Google aren't tracking your data and using it for their own purposes would be very naive. I do use Chrome, but only because of it being one of the more up to date browsers in terms of reading HTML code, so it is handy if you are doing web design, so that's a plus point to it for when ensuring any web page you design will format properly. But Chrome is undeniably all over your browsing history when it comes to throwing ads up it regards as relevant to you; you only have to brush past something on the internet and next minute it is popping up ads for that thing all over sites you go to, including the top of Avsim's pages.

“Google vigorously denied these claims...”

This means that Google will spend as much money on lawyers as it takes.

Yes FB and Google in DC investigation said if we do not harvest users data and sell it we would have to charge users for using our FREE software.

Judging by this discussion, even accessing the dark web isn't private... :ninja:
