August 6, 20205 yr Administrators Just about any addon comes with a README with instructions on how to install. Aircraft, scenery, payware or freeware? August 7, 20205 yr Also alot of add ons are just a case of double cliicking on the downloaded file and it will self install My youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/c/Dkentflyer
August 7, 20205 yr This is true Dazkent I might add the file the file has to be an executable, for it to self install. I'd recommend to install to a TEMP file first and check the contents in there. Berlopez

If there's a certain addon you are having problems with, let us know which one. For aircraft usually there's an installer that you need to run. For scenery, it really depends whether there's an installer or you have to add the scenery into the FSX scenery library manually. August 12, 20205 yr Yes aldridgem advice is the best. If there isn't an installer present in the file there are ways to add these files a/c or Scenery to FSX. Berlopez
August 19, 20205 yr Do you mean manually? I install every piece of freeware manually these days after some early disasters which destroyed my FSX set-up. I always install the plane, scenery, etc into a folder on my desktop and manually place the files according the the titles of the subfolders inside. This way, if I get trouble when testing that plane/scenery etc, I know exactly what files went where. I never overwrite files either, but rename the original xxx.BAKUP, so that I can undo a bad install easily. I have learnt the hard way and want to protect my nice stable system :) - Paul Elliott http://www.avsim.com/topic/450607-amy-johnson-london-to-australia-attempt/
