Amazing Papua New Guinea

With so many bush strips there is going to be plenty of room for Orbx to dress things up.

I forgot to mention this, but this video shows they've changed the trees between the beta and release version. Not just around the airstrip itself (which would probably be hand-done), but far off in the distance on the mountains, you can see the trees are not only shorter, but smaller in overall size as well. Well, you can't see it, but there are comparison shots on the beta forum. Those goofy looking huge trees sticking up on the ridge lines of the mountains that would glitch in and out are gone as well. I'm really hoping this is a world-wide change, which would make sense because why hand-fix trees on some remote mountain in the distance?

If you go to 22:54, someone did a comparison with that view. They also did a comparison around the airport and the trees are about half the height they were.

That one is indeed listed (in the first top 10 actually..)

Makes me wonder what the other (non hand crafted) airstrips might look like..

I went looking and all the strips from the Orbx PNG package are represented. Flew the 208 out of AYPY to find them... they're not hand crafted, but they're usable! Could use some attention from the team that did PNG first time around. Hope they do it!

Not the best picture, but they're all there! Checking them all out now... this, I believe is Efogi...

The BING digital elevation model for PNG seems pretty lacking - I don't know where ORBX got what they used, but its much closer to what Google Earth shows, and all the details that the ORBX package provided will be sorely missed by those that had it in FSX IMHO - still it's another opportunity for ORBX, so I hope they take it...

...but, I did get visit a few old haunts in the area, and it will do for now...

I agree it isn't Orbx PNG, but the trees...and the landscape almost makes up for the missing details at the strips. That said, this is pretty excellent for default scenery. Try visiting these in default XP or P3D/FSX!

I couldn't help myself and made more videos...I won't bomb the thread with all of them, but here are the links - I'll just bomb one...

Orbx were a partner during MSFS develoment... maybe they slipped in a couple of Easter Eggs..
