Stuttgart Airport is Missing ??

Recommended Posts

Hello Guys .

I am new here and from Germany ,

I have the Premium Version of MFS 2020 but unfortunately I found out that Stuttgart Airport "STR" is not on the Global Map ??
I also can not find the Airport with the text field.
So I am not able to start or land there.

Can somebody please check that for me ...

Thank you very much!

Hi,

that's true and it is not the only one. All airports that do not have a good bing coverage don't seem to be included. I already found a bunch of them only on my first day. I suspect there are a lot more...

EDDS is not available in BING Maps, so it is not avaiable in FS20.

Its that simple. EDDS is blurred out in BING.

We have to wait for an Addon or public available BING maps (google maps etc is not relevant for FS20)

Yes, it's missing. Along with all the other airports that don't have adequate Bing imagery available, including Eindhoven, the new Istanbul airport, all sorts of other European airports that are adjacent to military areas, the Faroe Islands, and most of Greenland.

Wow thank you all!
that's a shame I thought every airport in the world will be there, and Stuttgart Airport with around 13,000,000 million passengers a year is not a small one.

The Problem with Bing,Google Street Views etc. is  that in Germany there is a high personal data protection , so even if you see your house in one of this programs and you don`t like it they have to make it
not visible.

Take it up with the German government as they made Bing hide those airports

Yes like i said before very high data protection.
You can not check peopels records like in the USA not even close to that.

thank you!

Maybe you can fly over it manually yes but it`s certainly not on the Map.
Maybe it was in the alpha and then they got a instruction to delete it.

Government paranoia never ceases to amaze me...

How come Stuttgart Airport is pixilated on Bing, but not on Google Maps. How come a bunch of Greek airports are pixilated on Google Earth, but not on Bing Maps. I suppose they believe we're all fools...

I have still to understand why Bing blurs some airports of no or little strategic value and Google Earth does not.

On the other hand Bing doesn't blur Ramstein...

The airports are there even when they are not displayed on the global map, same for EDHL.

But I really don't know why they did that.

I just flew over EDDS, it's not there. A shame, since it's my home airport.

My first impressions about German coverage in general are not that good...

The flight model is, however excellent (better than other sims I tried). I especially like the stall behaviour of certain airplanes that I fly often - interesting to see how they would behave in extreme situations.

There will be scenery addons for all the not-so-good-areas of Bing i believe...

Just out of interest, what did you find lacking?
