August 18, 20205 yr Given that the location of the SIM is under permissions lock how does one set up the RTSS profile? Also can someone post a screenshot of their profile? I am getting constant stutters at 30 FPS on my 3480*2160 on a GTX1080Ti and I76700K at 4.6 MHZ and I am trying to go by a process of elimination. Side note . Just landed at my homwtown airport of MDST and I cannot believe how immersive this was for being a default sim. I am truly excited. Follow me on : Instagram See my Trailer: A Year Of Flight

August 22, 20205 yr I can’t but I did a workaround setting up on the global profile. I know is a pain to change it every time you go back to P3D (my case) and need to reset everything but at least it work. I would like to know this also, how to create a specific profile with the protected flightsimulator.exe Ramon De Valencia AMD 9950X3D / 64GB DDR5 6000MHz / RTX 5090 / 1200 watt PSU MSFS 2020 and 2024

If you have Hyperthreading off, try setting it on and lower your OC to keep your CPU cool. This helped with my stutter issues. I have locked my MSFS frames to 30 from Nvidia Control Panel. 7700K, RTX 2070S, 16 GB RAM, WQHD monitor
August 22, 20205 yr Author I just set Rivatuner default profile at 30 and left scanline at 60. In the sim FPS set to 60 and in Nvidia 30 HZ Refresh rate. Been working great for me in the sim. Follow me on : Instagram See my Trailer: A Year Of Flight
August 24, 20205 yr Hey Everyone, this is my first post here, but I hope it is helpful. I just joined to let you guys know this, because I just spent a few hours digging into this myself, and came across this thread about 25 Mins before figuring out the answer on my own on accident. I know most of you guys have already found work arounds that work good for you, but figured I would still answer the original question. It turns out that you can Hold the "CTRL" Button on the Keyboard while hitting the "Add" button in RivaTuner. This will open up a Window that displays all open 3d Processes (Instead of showing a File Explorer Window). It just so happens that when using this method, if Flight Simulator 2020 is open (or any other Game, including other Windows Store Games), then it will be listed in that Window, and you can select it. Then you can setup your dedicated Profile how you prefer, and it will work great. I found when using this method that its best to restart the game after initially adding it, because otherwise Riva doesn't always hook itself properly to the EXE and then you get weird *stuff* happening. Anyways, I hope that helps! Happy Flying! Edited August 24, 20205 yr by MattTheTechLV Word wasn't allowed

Also, besides the holding CTRL while choosing Add in Rivatuner fix, you also asked about having us post our profiles. I work for a publication that runs benchmarks on Games and Hardware, and I was tasked with Benchmarking this game. I used to play My Dads Flight Sims when I was a kid (The Original Microsoft Flight Simulator), and haven't played many since that time, so this was my first time jumping into a Flight Sim in at least 2 decades. I was BLOWN AWAY by how amazing the experience was, that now I am actually running this Sim in my free time. Because of this I have also done my best to Optimize the experience, while also having it look good. So far my testing has showed the following Settings to Effect Framerate the Most. Also, for a side note, My Personal Rig runs a 1080ti and a Ryzen 9 3950x, with 32GB of 3800Mhz CL16 Ram, so thats what I have done this testing on. I play at 1440p, and to get me a mostly 60FPS Locked Experience (Except in Cities like New York will it will still drop to the 30's) I start with the High Preset, but change Grass and Bushes, All Shadow Settings, Volumetric Clouds, Ambient Occlusion, Windshield Effects, and Light Shafts to Medium. Also the Terrain Shadows I turn down to 512. The next Change I make is Turning "Use Generic Plane Models" to On for both AI Traffic and Multiplayer Traffic, and then I go to the "Traffic" Settings, and Turning down All of the Sliders to 25. Everything else I leave to default for High, and turn off Vsync (But lock to your desired frame rate with either RTSS or Nvidia/AMD Control Panels.) This seems to be a great balance between looks and Framerate, as I can still enjoy a locked 30FPS at 4k With these settings If I desire, and with my 1070 and 3900x Rig in my Living Room, with these exact settings I can still Play at 1440p with it rarely dropping below 30FPS. Of these settings the One that I turned down that is the Most Noticeable to me is the Volumetric Clouds, it makes them no longer look as real, obviously with all the Traffic at 25% you see less Traffic in the World (But they really heavily effect Frame Rate, so I don't mind seeing less Traffic for more FPS), and the Shadow Settings turned up do add a bit more realism, so you can play with those to get a good balance for your systems, I just know that these settings seem to do it for myself, where as before playing Full on Ultra or High at 1440p had me Dropping hard below the 20s, sometimes resulting in a Slide show on my 1080ti, and while it looked absolutely amazing, these settings seem to be a good balance. Anyways I will shut up now. Enjoy your Flights everyone!
