FSX is so real...

Easy. Fly the approach plate in rl and in fsx. Use an airport with ILS for best result.

Yeah-but how to get a video of fs-then syncronize it with the real video I already have, and then combine them into one video. Beyond my capabilities and knowledge...http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg

The frame rates for the one on the right were much better. LOL. But, seriously, I loved this video. Frank

Beyond my capabilities and knowledge...>http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpgWell it would take a small investment and a little bit of time to learn the video editing program (I was brand new to it and it only took a few days before I was making videos). And of course some good flying to match your...well good flying in the real world!Obviously you'll need something like FRAPS to record the game video. Then you'll need your real world video. I would suggest a program called Premiere Elements from Adobe http://www.adobe.com/products/premiereel/ (although there are many)to put the videos together. It's an easy to use program, as long as you have some computer savvy.

Looks like the FSX pilot did a better job of alignment and landing.EXCELLENT.

That's ole "lefty"! He always has a tendency to land to the left for some reason. If you read the Aeroworx forums you'd see Chris mention that. lol

My real world video is ready to go...>>http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpgYour machine probably runs slow enough with FSX -- adding FLAPS will make it crawl. If you have a VIDEO OUT on your PC, you may do far better to record the video out to a VCR or an external DVD recorder, and then import that video back into your Video Editing program, after you close down FSX.

That is very nice, although I am definitely missing those shakes from the real plane :)

Glad people are enjoying the video. I propped the video recorder up on the glareshield as we flew in there...my F.O. (Lefty Larry) was flying from the left seat (we swap seats each leg). The FSX video was captured using FRAPS (and it was the FSX-Demo). You'll notice the FSX video gets a bit choppy during the rollout..that wasn't FSX's fault..I had to slightly slow down the FRAPS footage to synch it up with the actual footage...so the reduction in frame-rate is artificially induced. The side-by-side video was put together using Adobe Premiere. It is very easy to do..you just re-size the originals and Premiere does the rest of the work. Add some titles and that's about it...If you want to see the rest of the story..including some interesting side-by-side photographs of FSX vs. the real deal..the article is here:http://www.simhq.com/_air7/air_246a.htmlRegards..Chris "BeachAV8R" Frishmuth

No really. Just reduce the simulation rate to 1/16, capture the video. When finish editing the FSX video, but before merging with the real video, speed it back up 16 times. Most very smooth videos are captured this way.

FS is still missing a LOT of that feeling of unstability in the air. Watch the short final.
