August 20, 20205 yr The install issue is a fair criticism of MS. It's not good. Even from the MS store. Some of us have gotten rid of anything Xbox related on our computer. Turns out you need a couple things like the Xbox app and/or the Xbox Identify Provider on your computer. Supposedly someone from MS told a user to wait a week and a patch will be out for W10 to address the install issue. Eric

I think the launche needs patching too. Once both of those are done perhaps I'll take a second crack at it, subject to hearing others experiences. I'm not at all surprised Steam is full of angry people, it's not a cheap game and then when it won't even install people are understandably unhappy. I don't think anyone came in to this expect it all smelling of roses, but expecting to actually install probably wasn't unreasonable! You review a product based on what your experience of it; if after many hours you've only seen the installer and it doesn't work, fair grounds for a negative review in my opinion! August 20, 20205 yr My belief is that the decision to launch on steam was very last minute, and with the launcher redirecting to Microsoft for assets, was not thoroughly vetted in time. Since most Windows users are scared of actually creating any MS related accounts (even though they think nothing of setting up a Google or Apple one 🤔), I'm sure this played into their decision to offer on Steam. In my business I see every manner of internet hyperbole that causes users to regedit out essential services, updates, patches, and distributables to keep the evil prying eyes of MS from their system. More money for me, as it always bites them at some point. I also use DAW software, and the problems I read on those forums pretty much echo these. My Xbox install was painless, quick, and in less than two hours I was flying. 👍 Edited August 20, 20205 yr by OneOfMany
