"Minuscule." I dunno, man. Each of those things you listed have significant flaws or aren't working as intended.
August 29, 20205 yr Day 11 of Release of the biggest Flight Simulator in history yeah we got bugs..... But my question is how many bugs have you found ? How many bug reports have you submitted to Xendesk to get fixed. How many of these bugs are just people just going on about but have not really seen and just trusting in someone else's reports. i7-8600k @ 3.70 GHz 16.0 GB Ram OS Win 10-64 bit Geforce GTX 1070

The core function of any flight simulator is weather, navigation and flight modelling at best In today’s standards. Either day 10, day 1 or day 2000, these core functions should be working properly over anything else, cause let’s face it, it is labelled as a flight simulator after all. Don’t get me wrong, I’m having fun VFR’ing around in the sim and have yet to fire up any other of my sims since release, but these are basic things that in this day and age, “Have to work” and not “should perhaps work” in a simulator. Take Call of duty, I don’t play it but let’s say it was released with a known bug that the artillery doesn’t fire(And doesn’t get acknowledged), or take the NHL hockey series on consoles that get released with a known bug that they forgot to inject the hockey puck in the game(Which again doesn’t get acknowledged). These are the Basic core items in the games that “have” to be there. And in my opinion in today’s standards, of your releasing a labeled flight simulator, these are the core functions that are required...Granted It’s much easier to program a puck in a game than worldwide weather, but worldwide weather in a simulator has been around for some time now, it’s not new science. August 29, 20205 yr By core functions you mean having Hurricanes , Active real weather ? Real flight tracking w/ AI aircraft ? Flying around EU and atm in Africa and the winds weather are 100% working is it perfect yet ? Nope but the CORE FUNCTIONS are here and working. When I think of core functions I think of plane dynamics / GPS / Airports , approaches. But yeah the core of the Flight Sim is working. For everyone all the time ? Nope but it will get there . August 29, 20205 yr Well they seem to be working for me, 110 hours atm in sim and 85 hrs atm in the c172 don't get me wrong I have issues with a lot of things but to Say the Core of the Flight Sim is broken is a bit disingenuous. August 29, 20205 yr Ah yeah the G1000 issues , there are more than just the Direct to Function not working properly atm but this is not the " core of the flight flight sim " this will get fixed among the vectors to final on approaches and the VOR1 / VOR2 after selecting CRS on ILS approaches shouldn't be an automatic thing could go on and on, All of these have been reported but this is not " core game breaking " issues. Guess your idea about what the Core of the Flight Sim and mine are different. Bugs yes but core broken no Day 11 of release i7-8600k @ 3.70 GHz 16.0 GB Ram OS Win 10-64 bit Geforce GTX 1070
August 29, 20205 yr Instead of arguing about what constitutes a "core feature," right now I'm thinking of the current state of MSFS as "What needs to change before I'll start investing in payware additions to the sim?" For me that's the only important metric. I have money to spend, but I won't spend it if some things don't get fixed in the next months or year. So here's how I'm categorizing it: Category 1 -- Critical bug or poor design, won't buy any payware until fixed: Exaggerated and incorrectly modeled turbulence. Autopilot can't recover from Active Pause. (Temporary workaround is assigning "static" Pause) Poorly modeled ground effect on landing. Fix bugs and extend functions in GPS units. Category 2 -- Hope this gets fixed soon, but would still buy payware: Better turboprop modeling (suspect we may need payware for this, but it really should be part of the default sim). Ground texture pop-in directly in front of the plane. Live weather either inop or missing elements like winds. Auto "retina" brightness effect in cockpit makes panel too dark when not in full view. Terrain mesh not high enough resolution. All of this was either mentioned in the Alpha or something new added since then, like the exaggerated turbulence. There are other things in the category of "I don't like it but it's not going to change, and I'll fly the sim anyway," like the UI obviously designed more for game consoles than desktop PCs, and the convoluted control assignment menus. I'll get used to it. Everything else listed above are things I believe any flight sim enthusiast would probably notice. Bugs yes but core broken no Yes our views are different on what constitutes a labeled “flight simulator” Btw, I’m not arguing with you or being difficult with you to press buttons, but just simple conversation is always good to see others point of views, and also, I am having a blast with it in its current state with VfR flying and don’t regret my purchase, just odd that these very simple things would not be working on release that’s all. hope most of us are enjoying the sim as much as I am! I hadn't even thought of it in terms of that but yes that is kinda the metric I generally use for my sims "Is this a platform I will want to invest money into payware for" because I suspect for many people here on thee AVSIM forums the amount we end up spending on payware probably exceeds the costs of the simulators.
August 29, 20205 yr People jumping from a Flight Sim that have been around for 10+ years into a brand new flight sim that is only on day 11 of release is awesome. Can't wait 6 months from now flying around on Vatsim in a pimped out PMDG study level 737 NG3 or when the people at Flightfactor , Zibo or Toliss start making planes. This is going to be one amazing Sim i7-8600k @ 3.70 GHz 16.0 GB Ram OS Win 10-64 bit Geforce GTX 1070

August 29, 20205 yr May I ask someone using an external GPS program or current charts to check congruence between Magnetic Heading & Track at high latitudes, (Where Mag Dec >= 12) and if possible also check parked AI aircraft position relative to the ground markings? Thank You. Would do it myself, but I'm sitting on the fence for a while. Ramón. Time, is the one thing no one can buy.

Most of the issues raised here were mentioned in Alpha and Beta tester feedback during the last 6 months before release. It's great that many people are enjoying the pure VFR sightseeing experience. I am too! But I believe it's also legitimate to ask why major problems that have been pointed out for months now, are still in the sim. Asobo has been getting feedback for a lot more than 11 days.
