It's great that many people are enjoying the pure VFR sightseeing experience. I am too! But I believe it's also legitimate to ask why major problems that have been pointed out for months now, are still in the sim. Asobo has been getting feedback for a lot more than 11 days.

I wasn’t a tester so can’t deny or confirm, but if this is the case, then yes that is a very serious issue on a release in knowing these problems months ago.

You are comparing a car with missing hardware with bugs in software?  There are zero complex software applications out there without bugs.  Name one single flightsim released in perfect condition.  Name one flightsim that didn't have multi patches.  Name one app on you phone/tablet that wasn't ever patched.  Even better, write yourself an application of 50 lines and see if it runs first time as intended.

The weather in Flight Simulator is not new science?  It is such a huge advance in weather portrayal I find your statement bewildering.

Btw, I’m not arguing with you or being difficult with you to press buttons, but just simple conversation is always good to see others point of views, and also, I am having a blast with it in its current state with VfR flying and don’t regret my purchase, just odd that these very simple things would not be working on release that’s all.

The problem you have is the label 'very simple things'.

2020 has been an extraordinary year for us all personally and extremely testing for businesses.  No doubt Microsoft released earlier than intended, but we get to use an incredible simulator while those 'very simple things' are fixed.

Ummmm, hasn’t live weather been around since flight simulator 2004?, and every other version since? 16 years, so no I don’t see it as new science, in fact it was quite mastered by third party developers.

I find it interesting that so many are so forgiving and understanding about a release that clearly now is in beta state at best.

Yet, over the last few years how many have rolled their eyes and vilified software addons releases in similar state as well as the people who bought them described as "paying beta testers".

Guess you told them and  they didn't listen!  I told them last week of a long list of bugs and they have yet to listen. 😞   

 

Guess we just have to wait! Wait 4 months and just pretend it's still Alpha

Can somebody PLEASE tell me, which flight simulator was released and on day one, was perfect in the areas of wx, navigation and flight modelling (regardless of release as an alpha, beta or early)?  Further, which flight sim platform was fixed by the original devs in these areas. XPlane 11 was probably the only exception in the area of flight modelling and how long has that taken.  Lets face it ... 3PDs do this work, subsequent to release, and even some of them have had humungous problems, which rightly or wrongly get berated.

Regardless of the current standard of this release, it is still light years ahead of any previous flight sim release "out of the box"

Yes it has problems, and I really feel for the people who have had, or are still having install problems. The people who are, should be telling Zendesk in the first instance ... I wonder how many are ... and then asking this community for help rather than going down the path of denigrating this sim.  

I agree also with flyinpilot in the latter part of his statement about having fun with VFR etc. It is excellent in that regard, and, opposed to his statement, I am constantly going back and forth between this, P3D v4 and 5, and Xplane. One of the joys I guess of being an aged pensioner, and having the time, I guess. All these sims still have their in built faults and areas of excellence which I can appreciate.

Further, there has been a lot of addon freeware released already, though I note some liveries are correct on one side of the aircraft and backwards on the other.  I can live with that until the 3PDs deliver the good stuff.

Please, just enjoy this and appreciate the "good, bad and the ugly for now  ... the potential is vast and the future is great.

You dont have to use the product!  If you are that dissatisfied,  use your previous 'perfect' flightsim until MSFS is up to your standard.

I said “Live weather” IE injection not depiction of weather, so yes like I’ve stated before, It has been mastered many Many moons ago...if you want my opinion on depiction, well then depiction of weather in msfs 2020 is miles ahead of anything I’ve seen before in a sim.
