August 30, 20205 yr Edlc82002 14h OK everyone. I was talking with Meteoblue just before, and they were quite shocked to hear about this! I pretty much gave them the lowdown on what we are experiencing and he actually looked into their system and saw that Asobo has acknowledged a Live Weather bug on their end. Basically MB is sending the data, and Asobo is receiving it, and as far as they can tell, Asobo’s data guys see the weather data being sent out via the game client. (Which it is, we see it works in Europe). So the fact its not working everywhere implies the bug is from within the sim itself, which would likely require a patch. MB does seemed committed to making this work, and even just requested that MS/Asobo actually acknowledge this bug publicly, and reached out to the lead devs to make them aware of this problem. So I think hopefully we are making progress. More info will likely come next week though. MB was interested to see how the weather/winds are depicted in the storm due to hit Okinava Islands, Japan either tomorrow or monday. Winds should be in excess of 80kts at 10000 ft by their data. If anyone wants to report back here, I can pass along. The more info I can give them the better. I hope this gives everyone some hope. It’s out of meteoblues hands, but they did seem bummed that the sim isn’t delivering what they are providing it, as most of us are too. From mega Thread https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/why-has-the-broken-225-03-wind-not-even-been-acknowledged-as-an-issue-extremely-concerning/208170/168 tldr: Asobo has acknowledged a Live Weather bug on their end. but not publicly. Same with the one at the other end of the runway, on my roll out the wind Sock at the other end was indicating wind, once I got close enough again it dropped. So it almost seems that there is a “bubble” of a certain distance around my airplane that the wind can’t break through. Just an observation. August 30, 20205 yr I'm currently doing an around-the-world trip, and yesterday, I could see the exact "border" where the "European live weather" with accurate winds stopped and where the non-working live weather with accurate clouds, but not winds, began. It was on my leg from Donegal in Ireland to Iceland, roughly half way out over the Atlantic.

Keflavik makes the game crash if you fly near it or you try to start a flight in it, maybe that's the source of all our problems, like some kind of black hole or the (spoiler alert) strange portal ball in the series Dark. Yeah, I kept well away from the Reykjanes peninsula and landed directly at the city airport of Reykjavik. Luckily, no crashes there. 😊

I’ve noticed that cloud movement and water swell seems to correspond with the correct wind, even when I’m only experiencing 225 / 3 in my immediate vicinity.

The problem is with the windsock animation. It is not animated beyond 500 meters. I’ve noticed what appears to be a bubble when your on or close to the ground. The map will depict the correct wind, but once in the plane, the wind display in the PFD will depict winds much lower in speeds. Once you take off and get above a certain altitude, the winds gradually increase to what they are supposed to be. When you land, as you get lower, the wind decreases to the lower value. Galen
