Seeing the winds and storms and how the winds are working all around the word is just awesome. Really , really nice for planning this last half of my rtw trip

and some of these out in the woods airports where getting a good metar is a pita , this makes it so nice..

and you can save flight routes which is awesome , guess that's new to this site

That’s a great site. Pity it wasn’t doing the rounds back in my paragliding days. It would have been an absolute godsend.  Good find 🙂

That's very cool, and a little easier to grok than the Weather Globe on the startup page.

Should be a good way to test the MSFS weather data stream.

I see a lot of orange and brown on the map. Are 10 to 20 mph winds really so common?

Windy is excellent.  It's been my goto met site for a while now.  I was slightly disappointed that they were not made the MFS  partner

I love that app but somehow hadn’t thought of it to research VFR routes.  Thanks for the suggestion!

Yes for metar and weather porn this has to be hands down one of the best sites I have seen.

Live weather is working for most of the world. Not so much in around NA. Had some crazy winds couple days ago 60+kts

I've been using windy.com almost from the very start.  At first I was using it for sailing weather in the Caribbean (for a pirate game 😄 ) and later for the flight sims.  It has been an invaluable resource.

When the Breitling DC-3 did the around the world flight, when they flew from northern Japan/Kamchatka to the Aleutians, they had no source to get barometric pressure so they used windy.com data.  When they finally got an official reading from Shemya it turned out that windy.com was quite accurate.

For P3D and Active Sky, windy.com gives me all the weather info I need, from winds aloft to cloud coverage to visibility and more.  I can use it to avoid storms or fly through or over them.  For MSFS the weather has been a little iffy, but my last flight in the Pacific Northwest I was able to get accurate cloud cover from windy.

These days when my wife mentions there's a storm coming, I check windy.com to get the weather.  I find it more detailed, and often more accurate, than what she's getting from TV weather sources.

Gotta love windy.com. 😄  Skyvector.com for real world charts and windy.com for weather and I've got everything I need.

nice find, did not know that windy offers a web interface and even flight planning options, just started to use the app early this year to check winds for windsurfing and love it for that
