So...not sure if today's patch from asobo has broken something in your G1000 mod, but I get no displays in the da62 after dropping your folder into my community folder. They are completely dark/unlit. Dave Kalin Excel Classes Computer Lessons
September 2, 20205 yr Doesn't work anymore after the patch. The G1000 (C172) is dark with the 10 % default I guess, the Menue button doesn't show the options for dimming and the synthetic vision toggle isn't available anymore. September 2, 20205 yr Author Hah, naturally that update would drop the day after I share this. I'll have to look into it a bit later on today. I'll update here if I figure out what's up.
September 2, 20205 yr Author Hmm. I just looked at what changed in the update, and none of the content that this touched changed. Plus, after updating myself, I can load both the DA62 and the 172 and it works just fine. Has anyone else who had tried this had issues post upgrade?
September 2, 20205 yr Kaosfere, I cant thank you enough for this mod. Having flown couple thousand hours on the G1000 over the years, the one thing that kinda spoiled MFS for me was the inability to switch off synthetic vision. Don't get me wrong, Synthetic Vision is an amazing tool, especially during the approach phase. But in the cruise well above terrain it gets quite distracting. I absolutely love the sim to bits, but in general I am quite disappointed with the G1000 in MFS, its got the Garmin logo on it, so I assume they had the rights to model the avionics closely, but the fonts are off, the colors are off.. and most of the functions aren't modeled. Which is disappointing as it is quite a basic avionics package. But your work/mod gives me so much hope for what's to come. I can't help you with actual panels, but if you need pics of any G1000 pages or insight into the system etc, just give me a shout. Thanks a mil! My apologies, Rob...after sorting it through I've discovered the issue was user error...you know when your mod switched to a package for the community folder and we needed to restore the original file in the model folder before using the community folder package? Well, somehow instead of me restoring the original I somehow messed up and restored the wrong file version :-)...this is what was causing the display issues...once i restored the TRUE original file in the model folder and dropped your g1000 mod into the community folder all is now working very well, I can report! Once again, sorry for the false alarm ( i know how annoying they can be sometimes). Edited September 3, 20205 yr by hangar Dave Kalin Excel Classes Computer Lessons
September 3, 20205 yr This is great to hear guys, I love it when people work hard and then share there work. Thank you. Can I ask two questions 1) What files/folders do I first need to back up, and there location please. 2) In the Baron G58 could you add the ALT button back? David Murden. Just drop his g1000 mod folder into your community folder, thats it. 3 minutes ago, Nyxx said: 2) In the Baron G58 could you add the ALT button back? I second that one! hehe Dave Kalin Excel Classes Computer Lessons

Correct! 8 minutes ago, Nyxx said: 2) In the Baron G58 could you add the ALT button back? I can see what I can do. I also have a note to see if I can fix a broken barometer. And a request to add OBS mode to the G1000, but after doing some initial digging I am afraid that part of it might be buried deeper in the "logic" of the sim, and not something I can access. I'm not sure of that at this point, though. We're all just experimenting at this point. 🙂
September 3, 20205 yr Thanks for the mod! Any chance we can start putting these kind of mods on github by default? Not sure how long your link will live etc. Might be more useful to have it there so people can contribute and fork etc.

The barrier to use there for the average person may be a little bit high, so I'd still like to provide zip files, but ideally they'd come as github releases. As alluded to earlier in the thread, I'm starting to form a collaboration with a couple other folks to pool our efforts on this and other related fixes, and our work there will all be on github, too. And we've already talked about using github's CI process to build release zips for us, as well.

What I see in the Baron, along with the Beech, is that the AP panel is entirely missing from the PFD, so there are no AP controls on that side at all. Is that what you meant, or is there another ALT button I'm missing? If it's the former, I can change the logic driving the PFD, but unfortunately having the display without the AP panel is baked into the 3D model. I don't really have the skills needed to work on that (nor the time to learn atm) but if someone wants to volunteer to help out with that, I can see what I can do.
