Unfortunately, I'm not able to do much with the G58, since it's one of the encrypted ones and I have no way I know of to get access to the interior definition so I can modify it. It's _possible_ this could be fixed with just a tweak to the 3D model for the panel, I'm not sure. But see previous comments about be being clueless when it comes to rendering. I'll keep "make that rather important knob come back" pinned on my TODO board in case I have a breakthrough in something, but for now I'm afraid that one's going to have to stay like that. 😞 If anyone is familiar with editing gltf files and wants to collaborate so we can see what we can do, give me a shout.

No, the a/p buttons are on the correct side (MFD)...but the Altitude bug adjustment knob is missing from the right hand side (MFD). If you look at the low left corner of the MFD you'll see a white circle...that white circle is supposed to be the underlying base of the alt adjust knob, but they left out the knob itself so you cant adjust the alt bug (which is displayed at top of altitude tape on the PFD. I think that knob may also be missing from the lower left corner of the PFD as well. I'm not sure if in the real plane there's one on the PFD side but i noticed on other G1000 equipped planes in the sim it is there on the left side (PFD) and right side (MFD). To make up for that missing ability to set the alt bug I've taken to using my saitek/logitech radio panel as a way of displaying and adjusting the alt bug. Having flown couple thousand hours on the G1000 over the years, the one thing that kinda spoiled MFS for me was the inability to switch off synthetic vision. Don't get me wrong, Synthetic Vision is an amazing tool, especially during the approach phase. But in the cruise well above terrain it gets quite distracting. I absolutely love the sim to bits, but in general I am quite disappointed with the G1000 in MFS, its got the Garmin logo on it, so I assume they had the rights to model the avionics closely, but the fonts are off, the colors are off.. and most of the functions aren't modeled. Which is disappointing as it is quite a basic avionics package. But your work/mod gives me so much hope for what's to come. I can't help you with actual panels, but if you need pics of any G1000 pages or insight into the system etc, just give me a shout. Thanks a mil! Thanks for that information. I was really curious about real world G1000 users feeback to see how good the MSFS2020 G1000 was. I do not want to use any sim G1000 that does match the real world G1000. I don't want to end up being confused when using G1000 on a real aircraft. Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
September 6, 20205 yr Thanks for this mod! Would it be possible to add the functionality of putting the map in track up mode instead of north up? Also, everyone has its own idea of perfect setup. Would it be possible the germin keeps its setup so I don't have to change it every time I start a new flight? Thanks cheers, NiIs U.AMD 5800X3D | 32GB DDR4 RAM @ 3200MHz | RTX 4070 12GB @ 1920x1050px

I believe this should be fairly doable, it would likely just mean rotating the map element on the canvas. I'll check on that and add it to my TODO 11 minutes ago, NovemberUniform said: Would it be possible the germin keeps its setup so I don't have to change it every time I start a new flight? Not as far as I'm aware of, no. There is built in support for a gauge to load configuration from the panel.xml file (and that is where I added support for planes to specify their avionics brightness knob if it's not the default one), but I've seen no support for editing that. I haven't _tried_ to see if I can read and write an arbitrary fole from the local FS within the factory gauge code itself. My hunch is probably not, but we'll see. I agree it would be really nice to have a "preferences" file.
