PMDG 747 ON WINDOWS 10

Featured Replies

PMDG 747  CAN'T INSTALL ON NEW COMP WINDOWS 10 PROFESSIONAL 64, AFTER VALIDATION  SIGN COME ON THAT FS9 IS NO INSTALL, WRONG!! IS THERE, ANY IDEAS

Which version of the PMDG 747 do you have?

Since you posted on the FS2004 forum I assume the very first version which was called PMDG 747-400 Queen of the Skies and their last product update was May 2008.

This version is no longer supported by PMDG I believe and as part of that they would not have tested or provided any updates to make it Windows 10 compatible.

You can try and run the installer in 32bit compatibility mode  but I would not hold out too much hope sine much of the product code is 32bit.

If you have a newer version of the 747 e.g. PMDG Queen of the Skies II, then may be post your question/issue in a different forum to obtain support.

Sounds like it can't find the registry entry for FS9.  You might try running Flight1's registry repair tool: http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=library

I'm having the same issue.  This is called theft in my book.  I paid for it and now can't install it. I can't feel bad for PMDG now for people that use cracks, PMDG deserves it.

A program designed to run under Windows XP will still run under Windows XP … you can't expect the manufacturers to anticipate any changes in Windows 10 years or more in advance! If you really want/need to run antiquated software, set up a machine for the purpose ;)

If "customers" always paid for a product and didn't rely on "cracks" or pirated copies there's be no need for security installers in the first place!

Except for FSdreamteam! In their case, they updated the program that was designed for Xp/Windows 7 to 10, and now no longer works properly in XP/7.

So it seems like there’s really no standard principal that developers follow, leaving consumers with adverse effects both if they upgrade the OS or if they don’t. Ironically and sadly, this practice may have the unintended consequence of propagating the very “cracks” they are seeking to eliminate.

I think, that it is not acceptable, that they DO  provide the download still but the installation does not work EVEN on a xp installation. The problem is not, that the tools would not run, the problem is, that they do not provide  anymore the fitting server for the license checks. I think, that this is really not a good mentality to treat customers. I did not pay for a rented software but for a product. I wanted to install fs2004 and their planes now for my son for his training. Not doable. A Schweizer S300 I bought at  justflight I still could install now after short contact of the company (thanks to the friendly support there!). I will never buy anything from PMDG -- this is my way to treat such situations. They lose one customer (at least). I bought all their products till now. This will be the last one.
