Just OMG ...great job MS/AS!

Nice performance increase for me.  Still occasional micro stuttering but very much improved.  Feels fluid now

Title says it all.

GPU running cooler, load seems way better balanced across all CPU cores, the smoothness is remarkable ..EVERYTHING that is majorly important seems better (may be a bit of placebo effect but I'm sooo satisfied.)

@virtuali, took off out of your KORD in the 172....maybe a bit of placebo again but the textures look better...and the performance is way better now!

8700k all threads, HT on, no affinity, slight OC to 4.9ghz on all cores, ancient Titan Maxwell 12gb Vram, 32gb 2666 ram.....I am NOT complaining about anything!

Flying thru thick clouds was a tab choppy before, not now seems MUCH better.

Great job to the MS/Asobo....you knocked it out of the park!

Specific to your rig, I have a stock 8700K (no OC), stock 1080 (no OC), and the sim runs quite smoothly, with beautiful scenery, on Ultra.

To me the best thing about MSFS2020 is the sense of speed I get flying just above the clouds in the a320 at altitude.....when I fly for reals that always impressed me.....no matter how much I spent in FSX I just could never get that.   Now its just a joy to fly in clouds.......

Yeah, I'm trying not to like my setup so I can get a new one....but so far, if I'm honest with myself...I'm liking it.  I may update my ancient Titan, but she is holding up after I tore her down..replaced the baked on paste with Kryonaut, cleaned out the small dust deposits.

She was at 82c+ with the fan almost max (who needs jet sounds from the sim when you have a Nvidia blower card? LOL).  Now she's in the 70's with the fan at almost half the previous speed.  Very happy with that. 🙂

I get it....you're so excited about the immersion of breaking out of overcast and cloud skimming that you've posted it 3 times! 🤣 ( I know...forum glitch I imagine).

Anyway...have the same feeling...did it last night in fact in the TBM...quite stunning.

These are pics of an earlier flight (not the one last night).....Breaking out of this OC, then seeing another one to get thru....priceless. 🙂

Here I am...finally on top....Picked up some ice on the way...no worries..the boots will knock it off the LE.  and...the Boots are ANIMANTED....that just blew me away when I saw it!

Lol...I am in the same boat...I was totally in to getting a whole new rig but after the last set of tweaks and the patch I am really impressed with my performance (I5-6600k oc to 4.2 - 16 Gig of ram at 3200 - GTX 1660TI). Settings are high to medium in most cases at 1080p.  Still probably going to go up to the I7 - 7700k (the best I can put in my current motherboard) but I am no longer really thinking that have to do that immediately.  As I add custom airports and such that might change...but for now I am really enjoying where I am at.

Yeah....I'm most certainly in the wait-n-see boat when more addons come out and may impact performance.  But for now, this patch has really given me some breathing room to not make a snap decision to drop a few thousand on a new system.

And with my old Titan holding up her end...I can sit back and let the 3080 debacle settle down before I decide if I just wanna go vid-card update, or scale up to 10th gen...although 11th gen is right around the corner for Intel...and AMD is trying it's hardest with Big Navi and its next CPU architecture that it is indeed a great time to be able to sit and wait to see what comes out. 🙂 🙂
