Tropical water was impacted the most. I'd love to hear more about this issue, because I wasn't very happy with the water when I was flying in the Bahamas last week. September 20, 20205 yr Most coastal areas I have seen have boring flat water surfaces. To get waves you need to set unrealistic winds. The ocean is not a mirror flat lake when the winds are light. Better than P3D but nothing like the promo videos. September 20, 20205 yr There was a pre and post 1.8.3.0 patch video floating around which was comparing the frame rates for identical settings. It had quite a bit of water in it and there was a big difference in the waves/appearance. September 20, 20205 yr It seems that they've changed the amount of waves depending on the wind speed now. Setting the speed to 0 kts does not make the water look like a mirror anymore, but to get the waves to be noticeable enough from an altitude you have to increase the wind speed to obscene levels. Looks like they wanted a more gradual transition between the different speeds but they pushed it somewhat too far. It's weird that this wasn't documented in the patch notes and I hope they revert this behaviour.
