Problems on 1.9.3... :(

Featured Replies

OK for me, best download yet.. much faster, clean and no issues..  likewise with the Japan add on...

So I set up a typical test flight..  my usual..  London City (ORBX) to Bristol  (UK2000) using TBM usig Low Altitude airways set to 5000 ft with an ILS approach

1)  Took off and followed my usual procedure  of getting off the ground, setting the alt, etc  and then flicked on the A/P using FLC to climb to 5000ft which was given to me by clearance.

was transferred to london central by ATC and in quick succession (ie before I could even respond to ATC) got  climb to FL180,  climb to FL220, climb to FL360, climb to FL410 climb to FL520

by then it was also obvious that the TBM was climbing much quicker than before (approx 4000 ft/sec) but OH MY GOD..  the tail was bouncing up and down so much I was feeling seasick.  it's horrible to watch.

cancelled the climb and killed ATC and levelled out because there is NO WAY I can watch that on the screen..  the plane was all over the place pivoting up and down on the nose at all speeds between stall and full power.

2)  Bristol airport from UK2000 is now just a white blob on the ground.. all the detail, markings and someof the buildings have vanished, but the ORBX London City is fine.

3)  Tried to descend towards Bristol using VSpeed set to 2000 ft per min descend and the A/P started bouncing again...

killed it before I could check if it acquired the ILS as I cannot watch that before I could check the acquisition.

Retried flight.. same issues.

Going to restart the computer and see if that helps, but please don't let this be the results of this patch.. the A/P has completely stuffed climb and descend from what I can see on my simple tests so far 😞

EDIT :-    the only mods I have in my community folder are 5 airports and one livery...  just in case it is assumed that a garmin or flight mod may have been blowing up 🙂

Are you sure if with a TBM you could climb as high as FL520?. Seems to me too high for this turboprop.

Beats me.. I was setup to fly at 5000..  the rest is down to ATC.  I certainly wouldn't want to try FL520 🙂

Your pilot for sure suffered some kind of apoxia over FL400 and lost control, lol 😆. I suggest trying without ATC and see how it goes flying lower

Service ceiling of the real thing is 31,000. I'm sure you could probably get the thing a bit higher than the book figure, but I doubt it'd be more than a couple of thousand feet.

Yeah the issue here is not ATC being silly or screwy really.. its the horrendous bouncing on ascent and descent on the A/P and the fact that an add-on airport has been blitzed. 🙂    The ATC reound Londin is always completely stuffed anyway 🙂

okay well at least it's not just me...   from the official forums it's being described as the Dolphin Dance with various videos 🙂

This is what we are seeing on A/P climb and descend..

When the Updates from MS and ASOBO come. Empty your Community Folder and spend a couple of days just listening to the kindred spirits on how they work/ don't work.

I got the Download finished tonight. My Community folder is empty. It'll remain so until I know the Mods - are all good. Then I'll put them back one by one. . .carefully.
