So after setting off from Cyprus just after dawn with the sun reflecting off the new, err, water (Please fix Asobo) 😉 We got in to position to fly down to the sea of Galilee We flew through this Biblical landscape slowly down to zero feet. . . As we approached the Dead Sea there was some kind of glitch far away on the horizon resembling an enormous wave or body of water well above where it should be. As we flew on it seemed to match our speed with its retreat away from us. The signs were not good . . . We descended down to 100 feet, slowed and dropped the gear in preparation for disaster. . . Then, it was time to commit and we did, gently dropping in to the realms of -0 feet and below. . . A few minutes later and we landed successfully at Bar Yehuda Airstrip at a height of -1230 feet below sea level located just where the Dead Sea pinches and becomes the Potash Evaporation Pans to the South. So thank you Asobo - for fixing the bug. Great stuff. Moria - pass me my beer back! Cheers! 🍻 Edited October 1, 20205 yr by Will Fly For Cheese

October 1, 20205 yr Glad it’s fixed. This also means several airports near the Salton Sea in California should now be “land able”, along with L06 (Furnace Creek airport) in Death Valley. Not sure about LLET Elait - that's to the South of here. I'll be striking out westwards for Cairo and then Alex, probably keeping going across the Sahara and then up to The Straits and across to Gib and back home through Spain and France to UK. It's been a great trip down through France, Austria, Italy, Greece and Turkey so far. A little round-the-med in prep for a round-the world next.

Furnace Creek originally had the problem but they added an "exclusion zone" around the airport and I was able to land there. I sweated it the whole time. 🙂 Apparently you could still crash if you got outside the zone and it was possible to get under the "ceiling" and not be able to climb above it if you flew too far from the airport before climbing. I was wondering what the Dead Sea area would be like. Glad they finally got it fixed. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

Yes LLET is closed for a while now and has been replaced with LLER just a little bit north of LLET. Since they used the old FSX db LLET is still open and LLER is not even on sat images.
