TBM 930 PFD is locking up after 1.9.3.0 installed

Featured Replies

PFS locks up only the Virtual Display works. The Standby instruments and Autopilot continues to work. Its happened every time since new patch. Locks up climbing to altitude with Nav and VS engaged. I have only Scenery in my community folder.

Anybody else experiencing this or no how to solve the problem?

Happened to me last night in the DA62, with AP on using Nav, VS. The auxiliary instruments worked and in external view the plane continued to climb, but ignored the Altitude set. Turning AP on and off made no difference at first, but later the PFD appeared to display properly again, though it lost AP settings. The centre panel also appeared to stop, but then independently restarted more quickly than the PFD, and the pop-up map also froze. New since latest update. On the upside, for once the AP didn't foul up a change of approach, and reacted properly with a perfect ILS/glideslope capture and delivery.

also the TBM930 is having the doplhing dance wobbling when the autopilot is on.

I am currently flying a round the world tour with her, but can't continue until Asobo fixes the dolphing dance.

TBM930 was working perfectly BEFORE the new patch broke it 😞

I submitted a bug report on this issue to Zendesk. Best if others do the same to show Asobo that this is a problem for many people.

I’ve got 170 hours in the TBM in sim, and since the patch, I’ve now encountered this situation  as well where the PFD freezes on approach. No artificial horizon info, no airspeed info, no compass info, no altitude info. I still receive DME info re: whatever ILS/VOR frequency I had previously entered, but I’m forced to rely on the standby instruments for altitude/airspeed/artificial horizon info. This is a NIGHTMARE. Both times, it has resolved once the TBM enters into APR phase, which is weird, because that is now happening by itself (the NAV source button is now switching from FMS to NAV1 without me telling it to do so, another issue). Once it does that the PFD comes back to life. But for a sim nerd who flies by the book, I’m deeply frustrated. I’ve flown all over the place, IFR, in the TBM in this sim and this is the first time I’ve encountered this problem, and couldn’t help but notice it happened twice today, since the latest patch.

I Had it today, During descent from 13000-7000 ft in VS mode, all the PFD air Data froze (IAS, alt etc)at about 9200/ft . Tried resetting generator & battery switches with no success. The Attitude info and the MFD map was working. I hand flew it using the standby  instruments and landed. After turning off the rumway I reset the gen & bat switches and the PFD air data was back. Strange Pitot heat was ON

Very similar tonight for me as well. During descent the PFD locked, switched avionics on and off several times to no avail. Hand flew it in. On final approach I got the audible that TAWS system test was good to go (same as during initial start up). Then the PFD was good for my last 45 seconds in the air. Definitely very strange. I typically fly Beechcraft G36/58. Never saw this until tonight in the TBM.

The PFD locking is definitely a bug.

The avionics doing a reset and re-running it's self tests after cycling the avionics power is working as expected.

To a degree - I think it was just under 10 minutes for the self tests to finish after the PFD locked. They are closer to 90 seconds I think (maybe even less than that).

My uncle taught me "how to fly" on MSFS95, got MSFS98 for a birthday, and I have been hooked ever since

I had the same phenomenon  - frozen PFD - not all, the „compass rose“ still turned, but most of the animations halted - there was no way to change NAV frequencies either. I had to land visually and estimate the speed.

BUT it was not in the TBM (stock G1000?) - it happened in the famous and popular Beech G36 Bonanza Mod (!) together with the Working title G1000 Mod (both newest versions).

So I decided the abandon all mods and continue flying the stock stuff.

But reading the above experiences the Mods do not seem to be the culprits.

Intel i9-14900K, 64 GB RAM, MB ASUS ROG STRIX 790-E, NVIDIA GTX 4080 Super 16GB, 2 x 2 TB M.2, BE QUIET Pure Power 12 M 1000W, BE QUIET Silent Loop 3 360 AIO, BE QUIET Dark Base Pro 901, 4K-Monitor, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant, Thrustmaster TCA Yoke, Streamdeck XL, Thrustmaster T.16000M Joystick, Saitek Rudder Pedals, WINCTRL PAP3, WINCTRL 3M PDC, JetMax 737 home cockpi

It's definitely not the mods. I've done three flights with the TBM 930, with and without the mods, and the pfd locks up as soon as I load and activate the approach, or shortly thereafter.

Servus zusammen, selbe hier. Muss damit morgen mal spielen. Auf jeden Fall unfassbar nervig.

Hello everyone, same here. I have the feeling it happens when I activate the approach. But has not yet been cross-checked. Had it three times now. For example, if I enter the data for the ILS manually in Nav Freq of the ILS and Crs - without activating the selected approach - and fly it away with it, it does not happen. Have to play with it tomorrow. In any case, incredibly annoying.

ok. Was schreibt der da. Wie nach 3 Bier. Also nochmal.

OK. What is he writing? Like after 3 beers. So again. Seems to happen when activating the Approch. If you enter the ILS Freq and Crs manually and it flies WITHOUT activation - it doesn't seem to happen. But has not yet been checked. I already had it 3 times. I report.
