October 7, 20205 yr As an update. yes, MSFS runs nicely on this G66. But it only has a 15" 1080p screen, so why wouldn't it? I suspect that if I attach a 4K external monitor, I would be running with mostly high settings and a smattering of ultras. One issue that I noticed is that settings in MSFS are synched via the cloud between both my PCs, since they are on on the same account and the app can't be run simultaneously on both.
October 7, 20205 yr Quote Intel Core i5-1035G1, 8 GB SDRAM, 256GB SSD+16GB Optane, integrated graphics The integrated graphics is a killer. The rest of the specs would be OK but only barely and probably medium resolution or lower. There are ways to connect external graphics cards to some laptops but even if your one allows it, the rest of the specs would not warrant the expense of the upgrade. The other thing to note is that even laptops with separate NVidia or AMD cards will not necessarily play games happily over an extended period of time, Dedicated gaming laptops have a heap of extra cooling, a generic business/consumer laptop with a gaming card does not and is at risk of cooking itself with sustained GPU intensive gaming, Some, even with throttling, get hot enough to burn your fingers on the keyboard. If no can do than I'm thinking of getting the new XBox and running it on that. Am I able to use my logitech Extreme 3D joystick on an X-box?
