Azores by Tropicalsim, amazing

Featured Replies

Almost past this up and it's not so much the small airports Tropicalsim produced but the islands in general.  After installing the scenery and doing a distance flight in the CJ4 from Florida with a refuel stop in Bermuda I landed at night in the Azores.  Did a flight the next morning with the 152 first and then the Cessna Caravan and was amazed at the island scenery in the area.  This is another example of areas I normally wouldn't fly to and in this sim look amazing if given the chance. I highly recommend a flight around these amazing islands with a small plane. Now I see what all the fuss is about when I hear the Azores mentioned from people who’ve been there.  I can just imagine how Tahiti will look with all those islands fully realized (went there in FS2020 and the default scenery wasn't all that spectacular).

TAPA is great as well.  In fact it was my gateway to see how Tropicalsim was doing with their scenery performance.  They nailed it!  Unlike LatinVFR who’s scenery has some serious performance issues in FS2020, Tropicalsim has no hit at all.  I love their GA ramp at TAPA.  Looking forward to them filling up the Caribbean with scenery.

If you like islands and just in case you havent checked them out, there are 3 handmade island airports included in the Japan update, and they are really, really good, wouldnt shock me if we had to pay for them. Special mention for Suwanosejima Island.

I'll pick up TAPA today.

As for LatinVFR KMIA & KSAN performance, I do NOT have any performance issues. I have a feeling that you have a setting that could be causing issues. Use RTSS to check fps and lower LOD setting to 100 or less just to test. I posted some pics of KSAN and you can clearly see the fps locked steady at 30. Switching to night did drop fps a little bit, but that could be MSFS loading other features.

What do you mean? I have downloaded the Japan package and it was free.

I meant considering the quality of it, it could easily have been a payware 🙂
