That's fair. For those happy with stock airports, stick with them. It's getting tiring having to read that some users are not interested in payware. That's fine, but don't ruin it for those who want enhanced airports. Thank you.

I wouldn't say anyone's trying to ruin it for you - it's not like they can stop you from buying something!😄

I personally love flying between these locations so, depending on price, one of them might be on my shopping list when I transition from the base sim in Game Pass to the Premier Deluxe version I have waiting to install. For me, it's just that I will already have spent way more on this sim than I had ever planned and I know that's going to increase hardware-wise in the next few months. Some people are willing and able to spend thousands on flight simulation, some will only ever need or manage to spend the bare minimum, whilst the rest will balance what they want with what they can justify spending. There's room for everybody - it's a big world, even if it is overcrowded (in reality and sometimes in the sim!).🙂

But these two versions certainly do look the part so far.

Its an airport that got special attention along with St Barth’s and looks better than the old FlyTampa ones in P3D!

As someone with TNCM in FlyTampa and who has been to the airport countless times in real life, sorry, but no. Did MSFS do a good job with TNCM? Yep. Better than FlyTampa? Nope.

Please don't take it personally, but I see this time and time again. Every time a new a payware airport is released a bunch of people want to post that they are not interested in payware. That's fine! But, how does that contribute to the thread. Is it going to encourage devs to continue to enhance airports. There's some nice freeware content and if users prefer that, I'll say it again, enjoy the default and freeware.

Default TNCM better than Fly Tamp version? Someone actually said it with a straight face? LOL 🙂

Nature of the internet and social media, unfortunately. Some (not me) might say "you are defending overpriced payware devs(etc, etc). As long as it's civil discussion, nobody gets hurt. Thankfully, this isn't going to lead to Call of Duty S.W.A.T. killings. Let's be thankful for that!

Slightly off-topic, I just made my best ever, near-perfect landing into St Bart's (in the Diamond), over the infamous hill, and it didn't even go into my logbook. Worse than that is that lack of a replay function to see how good it looked from the ground.🙄

Well look at St Barth’s then?

FlyTampa P3D version is way behind the AP in MSFS!

I've been there in real life, too, and have the FlyTampa version for P3D, and again, I disagree.

St. Barts in real life

St. Barts in MSFS

FlyTampa St. Barts in P3Dv5_V1

FlyTampa St. Barts in P3Dv5_V2

Also worth bearing in mind is that the P3D version of FlyTampa's scenery is what, 5 years old at least? Their new one will be spectacular. Don't get me wrong, Asobo did a pretty good job with TNCM and SBH. But better than FT? Naw.

St. Barths of MSFS Default is pretty good. I admit.. Almost as good as the Fly Tampa FS9 version/FSX Version.

Both are pretty well right on the money, but the one in MSFS just feels more organic because the surrounding scenery is better.

The P3D version of the airport is fantastic, but as you approach the hill, you can see the FSX autogen stick out like a sore thumb.

TNCM, however, needs definite work in MSFS 2020.  I hope they come out with a "Caribbean" update and give all the island airstrips royal treatment, with appropriate water masks as well.

Here's hoping.

This thread is not about St. Barts. It's about TNCM.

I'm well aware that St. Barts was enhanced by ASOBO as well as 29 other airports in the initial release.

The reference that default TNCM is better than FT TNCM is simply preposterous.

That would be awesome, it's an amazing region to fly in and it has never gotten its due!

I'm pretty sure this thread is about whatever everyone wants to talk about. Someone asked.
