Someone managed to hack the Taxi Ribbon

Recommended Posts

Cygnifick on the official forums managed to hack the Taxi Ribbon and make it smaller. You have to replace a file in the official folder for now, but this is a start. Perhaps a modder here could help him make it a mod for the community folder as he's having trouble with that bit.

Nice. I'll wait till it can go in the Community folder, assuming Asobo don't fix it before then. Next task would be to stop it glowing through the bodywork into the cockpit and also prevent it being reflected in the windscreen - it's virtual, so it shouldn't do that.🙄

Oh, and of course, add the ability to show or hide it with a keystroke.

One step at a time, I guess!

It's gotten significant votes on the FS forum--go vote on it and perhaps if votes get high enough they will look at more than just the size and address toggleability as well.  It could also be offered in the ATC dialogue as it is in FSX/P3D works great.

You can by pushing ESC, going into the Assistance menu, toggling it, saving the setting and then returning to flight. Not cumbersome at all.

I did not know that.

Does that save permanently or just for that flight?

Permanently.

It seems if you don't taxi to the end of the ribbon properly, that circle icon thing showing remaining distance stays on, too.

I'd just like a transparency slider on that thing.

Walking through the Nihonbashi area of Tokyo today I found evidence that Tokyo has also managed to hack the taxi ribbons.

That looks much better @scotchegg. That's how it should be in the sim, subtle but noticeable and not all in your face. Somebody should show that picture to Asobo and mention this.

I have to put the shorter trees mod in the real folder, I don't know how to put it in the community folder. FS updates takes quite awhile as a result.

Believe it or not, they’re there to show cycle lanes.
