Guru3D uses MSFS 2020 in their review bench marking suite.  I too agree about the no need for ray-tracing; 98% of all my high-end graphics need are for flight sims of various sorts.  That RX 6800 XT price, coupled with 16GB, is a WINNER!  I simply cannot find a reason why any recently released high end gcard should have any less...was hoping for a 20GB RTX 3080, guessing now that we may see one, or a similar variant, around of June 2021...or maybe not.  IMO nvidia is crazy if they don't announce this part really soon, even if its release is months out.

Just to put my 2 cents in, yes it was a fantastic presentation by AMD.  They have a lot going for them with their new releases

On the flip side let's see how these video card perform in the flight sim world, and then we can compare apples to apples, not apples to oranges.  

I will say if their 6800xt perform equal or better than Nividia 3080 plus $75.00 cheaper and more Vram, they have a real winner

Just being objective, and yesterday my new computer came in, 10700kf. and 3080 card

If the 6800 XT performs well in flight sims, my system could well be 100% AMD, a year and a half ago I would never have dreamt that I would be saying this. Bring on these independent reviews of MSFS, P3D v5.1 and Xplane 11.50. The time to decide which way to go with my new GPU is approaching fast.

I'm going to be waiting for official benchmarks, but I trust AMD more than Nvidia regarding their own benchmarks. They can't afford to be too deceiving in the position they are in. But pending third party reviews, I'm definitely looking at an all AMD setup with a 5900x/6800XT configuration.Nvidia should be really worried, personally I think they axed the 3070 & 3080 with more VRAM in order to release beefier versions to compete with AMD.

I'd also like to point out that alot of folks on here have stated Youtuber Moore's Law is Dead not be a reliable source of infiormation. Turns out he was spot on for months regarding Big Navi 2.

Who would have thought that AMD would be competing at the high-end again after 10 years, especially against giants like Intel and NVIDIA (AMD are still a tiny company in comparison). And we are yet to see the best probably, as the improved R&D funding from the Zen 2 cash flow will not completely show until RDNA 3 and Zen 4.

His Ampere leaks were all totally wrong, so I didn't bother to watch his RDNA 2 videos. He often used information from other leakers in his videos (sometimes using them without credit to "correct" his Ampere leaks), so unless he has his own source for RDNA 2 videos then that would be why. RedGamingTech, KittyCorgi and _rogame were extremely accurate, and even coreteks who mostly does speculation had a correct estimate of the Navi 21 die.

At least it seems that his Ampere Quadro leaks were correct, but I didn't verify after its release. But I really don't like that he still won't admit his Ampere leaks were trash, and there is a big list of deleted videos from his channel (like the SMT4 for Zen 3, which he insisted on a lot back in the day).

Didn't follow his Ampere leaks to be honest, & yes most Youtubers get their info from somewhere, anyways I think the bottom line is that AMD being back in the game is excellent news for us. I cannot wait to see benchmarks, I'm hoping for 20% uplift in 4k with a 5900x/6800xt combo vs 10900k/3080
