Yes, true. I tested it and it behaves better for now. Thanks for posting, Marcus

Good to know.

Summary to get the best EA experience at this moment :

- FSGRW : Max Visibility 300

- Deactivate Dynamics Reflexions for getting rid of pixelated edges with EA

- Use the following settings in the VolumetricClouds.cfg for sharper clouds and a less obvious grid from above the clouds :

Cumulus + Cumulonimbus:

worley noise : 0.9

worley scale : 4.0

edge sharpness : 2.7

Cirrus :

churn : 0.2

5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 -  MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb -  Corsair 5400  case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set  - 3x 75’ TCL tv.

Exact how I set it up.

One thing I have, the Edge sharpness with 2.7 is exceeding the max possible range regarding the documentation from truesky.. Assuming LM did not implement "own" parameters which will be converted to truesky, the max setting possible should be  1.0.

Did you see this?

I know, but 1.0 is less sharp than 2.7. First I tried 1.0 and it looked the same here. Then  I tried with 1.9 which was already better. The value of 2.7 is just 3x 0.9..

Very narrow Window where EA is useful then. In Scandinavia we are hit with moist warmfronts quite often during autumn and vis of 300miles or even km (not sure which units you mean) is an utopia.

This is not acceptable for a feature that according to LM has left experimental stage (?)

The 300 km in FSGRW is just a value of max Visibility if that was possible in real the world.

If the Metar says less Visibility you will see less.

I am not an expert but it looks like when using lower Visibility settings with a weather program like 150  the minimum lower Visibility is pushed together and you will end up with around 10 mls at dawn where it might be 30 mls ...

Yes, I tested several values too and saw slight changes although I did not really know if it was related to my settings or something else.

Thanks for replying. I will keep 2.7 in as it looks good to me.

Gerard, how come you went FSGRW not AS way? I have FSGRW too but never tried it in P3D, just used it for a while in XP11 only. Is there anything specific to your hardware, setup etc for it?

Thanks.

I think it was the only weather addon which worked via his Networked PC..

But Gerard will probably answer...sorry...;-)

Marcus is correct. It is the only weather engine which syncs weather and 3D clouds in a networked situation ( multiple view pc’s )
