Epic performance in V5.1 also ... maybe I don't need a 3090 or 6900 afterall ... hmmm

Cheers, Rob.

Rob, any idea how taxing EA is on performance compared to EA off?

Today a 3090 is arriving for my server but as performance is very good with 5.1 icw my 2080 Ti (2x 4K) I in doubt whether or not I should return it and get back the 1700 euro’s I paid..

Before you return it, if you return it, I would like to have a chat with you ;-). As I am using VR I need every "inch performance" I can get. IF you don´t like the 3090 for your setup....please PM me Gerard. We can talk about a "in sim-community sell" if you don´t mind. And I am serious interested.

Thanks a lot in advance.....

ASP3D looks amazing too! Nice clouds formations. No orange haze...better thunderstorm clouds......

I can imagine if LM would provide more parameters and cloud forms/cloud arts via a cfg....tool for 3 party...it will get really really nice!

There IS a big difference between ASP3D and FSGRW.....

Marcus

FYI for anyone having trouble getting ASP3D to connect to the simulator after updating.

Open ASP3D, navigate to the home tab, version must be 7613 - If lower version number, see below:

  • After running the updater, ensure ASP3D is shut down, go to your main ASP3D folder and run ASP3DV5ConnectorInstall.exe
  • Relaunch ASP3D and version should now show 7613. Launch P3D v5.1 and enjoy!

@GSalden

Hi Gerard,

I just read this on the HiFi Forum

"This is an ASP3D update for all supported simulator versions although the new enhancements focus on 5.1. Networked setup, you must copy over the new Connector installer program and run it again. Have you done this? If this doesn't explain, please provide specific errors/details and/or logs."

Does this mean it is now possible to use on networked setups like yours?

https://forums.hifisimtech.com/threads/update-rc-1-b7613-posted.13225/

If yes, I would try it if I where you. Because it is really much more enhanced compared to FSGRW.

The cloud formations and depictions are more variant and less "repeating".

Or did you already tried?

Thank you Marcus. This means that you can install AS on a non P3D pc.

FSGRW is the only one syncing weather on multiple P3D view pc’s with one acting as a server and the others as clients.

OK. Understood the difference! A pity!

No they found a work around which works also!

Simconnect is still defect...also SODE in some setups with airports using SODE jetways have issues too.

There is also a work around for this SODE issue which let´s you use SODE and Jetways without CTD by ucrtbase.dll. There is a deicaded topic on this here on AVSIM with an answer from Jeffrey aka 12BPilot from SODE.

I am on my way from ENVA to EDDF and have seen so many nice clouds which I never saw before. HiFi really nailed it and that probably with the current "restrictions" or "limited use they have.

If LM would implement more cloud variations, especially thunderstorm clouds/cumulonimbus and more variations for overcast conditions, this would be a real step forward.

But again...HiFi did make a lot out of it as it currently is! I let ASP3D use their own volumetric cloud cfg. This settings is probably the most important one as they seem to understand how to proper use the parameters within this cfg.

@HiFi: Great Job AND I would really like to see more of your great work as soon as LM let you "use the truesky sdk" further or they give you more controllability about truesky functionality!

A like it so far.
