ASP3D now compatible with P3D v5.1

I had this problem as well with missing clouds: Check the laoded weather data in the Sim, mine shown an error (overlapping cloud layers). I moved to a different airport and the weather loaded fine. So it seems the data is no changed according to Simulator limitations

Actually we've spent lots of time on it, replacing the appropriate systems involved in synchronized randomization replication over the past 3 years that are needed and this is nearly complete in our later generation products.  We have a bit of work to do to push this to completion as imagined and it is always a struggle to get this up the priority list, but we're really hoping to get to this fairly soon.

That's great to hear, and sorry if I appeared to suggest otherwise. I do love ASP3D and if you can make it work in a multichannel environment then I'm absolutely back in. I miss the voice ATIS so much it hurts 🙂

I am using ASp3d 7613 (newest version).  With EA on changing to fair weather brings clouds back (EA off no issue with clouds),  then while flying it reverts back to having no clouds with EA on.

Active Sky weather theme it doesn't work when you have "Disable EA volumetric cloud control" unset. ASP will try to create overlapping layers in this theme and P3D EA Truesky will give an error that you won't be able to noticed till you open your config menu settings for another reason. The workaround is leaving ASP3D to handle the volumetricclouds.cfg file and it will only create, as I have seen, one layer of clouds.

I'm enjoying much more weather freeware like P3DWX and still I can keep enjoying the amazing mod proposed by GSalden on this post: (You will have to revert your mod settings after using ASP)

Sorry, I missed you post about this issue before.

😉

The missing clouds issue with EA active seems fairly common given the number of reports both here, on the HiFi beta forum and elsewhere. Loading a P3d stock weather theme first sometimes fixes everything.  It's not a ASP3d issue entirely as FSGRW does the same thing. I wonder if some other add-on has messed with a P3d  shader, since not every user is seeing the clear sky issue. When it works, the clouds look as good as those in MSFS, except for the lack of horizontal weather regions. The weather seems to still be the same as far as the eye can see in all directions.

Wait there is only 1 cloud layer with ASP3D? If so, that can't be very realistic .

Anyone knows why I have no cloud only clear sky, what's the setting issue?

Read through this thread. No one is quite sure why this is happening, but a few people have made suggestions as to how to fix it.

No, there is no single layer limit.  There is some apparent cloud layer conflict issue we are looking into that may be the cause of most or all of these reports.

That is incorrect.  Disable EA volumetric cloud control, when enabled, prevents AS from controlling the volumetricclouds.cfg parameters and allows other modified parameters, all of which affect the visual parameters of clouds.  It does nothing to the number of cloud layers.  Cloud layers are very random and specific in-time conditions influenced and the conflict/overlapping issue is unrelated to this option.

I'm confused. Should Disable EA volumetric cloud control be checked, or unchecked?

Here no missing clouds with  FSGRW. I startup with a saved flight with Clear Weather ( Default Flight) and when in the Menue I change to Currebt Time/Dafe. Then I load into the scenery..

I have modified Shaders. EnvShade + 4 extra selfmade tweaks.

Unchecked by default if you want ASP3D to control things.  Check it and disable ASP3D control if you want to enable modifications (custom, added by user or other add-on, for example) to volumetricclouds.cfg.
