November 22, 200619 yr After having my hands burnt on the 757 from them, along with completely unhelpful bordering on rude reponses on their support forum, then I'm giving this a WIDE birth.Mark.
December 23, 200619 yr >I'm interested! For those of us interested - the CS shuttle has landed! http://www.captainsim.com/products/s001/index.html Regards,Stan
December 23, 200619 yr It's not just a model according to CS Website. It's all inclusive. That being said I'll wait for a review. Craig
December 23, 200619 yr Yeah baby!I'm going to wait a for a review, but I'm sure I'll be getting it.Now if only they would patch my F-104 for FSX, I could record Shuttle landings into Edwards AFB and fly escort in my F-104. Riot! ___________________________I'm just flying for the fun of it.
December 23, 200619 yr Just got it. It is sweet and FPS is not bad. It looks pretty in depth for what it is and it looks as if they've given this alot of thought. Starting to read the manuals OH BOY! lol
December 23, 200619 yr Jason, Would you please let us know your system specs, settings, and something more specific than FPS is not bad? Thank you, Craig
December 23, 200619 yr I would remind everyone that this is on their website: Please note, we do not support technical issues appeared on systems that do not conform to the minimum system requirements.RECOMMENDED: * - CPU 3+ GHz * - 1+ Gb of RAM * - 256 Mb video card * - 1 Gb of free space on the MSFS hard drive * - Windows XP * - MS Flight Simulator X * - Internet access (for installation/re-installation)So when someone buys it and isn't happy with the performance don'tstart complaining if your system isn't up to snuff. Craig
December 23, 200619 yr why would anyone want to fly a version of the space shuttle that hasn't been used in years? Im specifically talking about the analog gauges
December 23, 200619 yr HiGreat news about the shuttle release.I`m sure there are a lot of folks with a 757 shell that will stampede to buy it.;)Does anyone else notice the fact that the same low posters keep beating the CS drum???Now all that`s left are the screenshots that accentuate the visual model but steer clear of the avionics.BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Pete
December 23, 200619 yr Perhaps your not old enough to remember that the first shuttle had plenty of steam gauges. The greater percentage of GA aircraft out there still have analog.
December 23, 200619 yr I love analog gauges. That's why I like my CS F-104 & 707 so much.Digital feels... cold. Analog feels interactive. ___________________________I'm just flying for the fun of it.

Neat image.>http://www.fsd-international.com/team/Steve_signature.gif Hi Steve, it's been some time since you have posted here. As far as vehicles flying above 100,000 ft in FSX go I have to make some comments: The FSX atmosphere at higher altitudes is completly messed up. I set my 727 with extensive test gauge windows to 275,000 ft and found air density was about 800X the appropriate value. I had to set altitude to several hundred miles to eliminate the atmosphere. The inappropriate atmosphere was apparent to me by simply setting an AC to 50 miles or so. At the speeds I was flying, there should have been virtually no effect from control surfaces. But, there was was. Unless this is fixed in FSX, high altitude and 'space' flight will be completely unrealistic in FSX. Further, without attitude thrusters, there is no way to control a vehicle when aerodynamic surfaces are inoperature. Finally, as far as I know, FS(X) still only supports speeds up to Mach 3.2. I was unable to set anything near orbital speeds when I set AC parameters in the MAP view. Searching for strings in SIM1.DLL, it does appear that the variation of g with altitude may be modeled. Or, that code may be incomplete, and left for later activation. Thus, it appears FSX has been programmed for only a start to 'space flight'. One can move a vehicle to such a high altitude that the Earth is a sphere. But, can't do much more. Ron
