That saves people from having to create a new layout file which is what you'd have to do, as the V3 textures do not include any prop image files, only a prop animation tweak.

I didn't check this issue yet. I will try to make this by the most easy way.

Just let us know. I had it the original way, then reversed and took Bert's suggestion.  Is creating the Texture folder and moving the file into it not effective?

Hi Frank,

It might work. But probably not. When you make a mod all the files used have to be registered with the layout.json file in Simobjects etc folder of the mod. As I did not make a new prop DDS texture in V3 and it wasn't registered as a new tweak/file, then if you place a new file (image or other) into the V3 texture folders the sim will not recognise it. So the prop image will revert to the default. If however you backup the default prop DDS file in the main TEXTURE folder of the default DA62 and replace it with the modded prop blur DDS file, it will be instantly recognised. I really think for the average user this is the simplest way, provided you remember that you did it.

It also has the added advantage of working with the Bonanza Improvement mod or any other mod that tweaks the Bonanza.

I saw your message when you posted, I did not install because there is no file you named above on my Steam version installation anywhere. But there are these two files:

SAVAGE_CUB_AIRFRAME_PROPELLER_BLUR_ALBD.PNG.DDS.json

SAVAGE_CUB_AIRFRAME_PROPELLER_BLUR_ALBD.PNG.dds

but nowhere is there this file:

SAVAGE_CUB_AIRFRAME_PROPELLER_BLUR_ALBD.PNG

 

I'm sure there must be a way to unpack SAVAGE_CUB_AIRFRAME_PROPELLER_BLUR_ALBD.PNG from the dds file and then replace it, but I have no clue how to do that.

You need to set your PC to view 'File name extensions' then the .dds will magically appear. What OS are you on?

Thank you Robert.  I have returned to replacing the file in the Texture folder of the default G36.  Wish it was as simple as adding into the Community folder, as with the linker it is easy to manage at the time of MFS updates.  But understand the work that he did and will use it as needed and fully appreciate it>

windows 10. Thanks I can see the extensions. I was just confused because we are dealing here with .PNG.DDS files and .PNG.json files, not with .PNG files directly. So it's all good and working here now.

Could you explain what the connection between DA62 and Bonanza G36 V3 textures.

The Bonanza uses the DA62 prop image. Must be a hierarchy thing for variable pitch prop piston aircraft.

Sorry it was a typo. I meant the Bonanza prop blur textures. Because I'm working on the DA62 it was on my mind!

No. Bonanza and DA62 uses Different Texture Files and Animation logic.
