P3D stuck and CTD at auto

Featured Replies

Hi guys, need your help.
P3D 5.1 HF1 loading auto-generated scenery at exactly 72% P3D CTD all the time without any solution in the event viewer.
Reinstalled whole P3D scenery files, content, and so on. Reinstalled all ORBX Stuff, deleted P3D.cfg, scenery.cfg nothing helped.
Does anyone of you have a idea? I am desperate.
Thanks so much

So from experience. This could be some dodgy scenery.

I believe it loads on addon scenery after autogen. Hence if it finds some addon scenery it doesnt like it will ctd that this point

So for me before I'd had this some addon scenery. Namely HD luton before the update a few months ago.

I'd had it before as well with a dodgy exclude file for v5.

My advice go through scenery make the inactive until you find the culprit.

Already did that.

The AVSIM CTD guide is good. A few things to try:

delete all the contents of users/yourname/appdata/local/temp
clear shaders
reinstall graphics drivers
use lorby addon organiser to check for scenery conflicts

Are you sure that there's nothing in the event log?

If you're on Win 10, run Powershell as administrator and copy & paste the command line below into it. If out.txt on your desktop has anything in it after you run it, post it here.

get-eventlog -LogName Application -after 12/5/2020 | where {$_.Message -like "*Prepar3d*"} | Select-Object -Property EventID, TimeWritten, Message | Format-List | out-file $env:DESKTOP\out.txt

i9-10850K, ASUS TUF GAMING Z490-PLUS (WI-FI), 32GB G.SKILL DDR4-3603 / PC4-28800, GIGABYTE RTX5080 16GB WF OC 3 FAN running 3440x1440

100 % sure I tried everything! Reinstalled ORBX, deleted content, client and scenery, reinstalled these, deleted p3d.cfg, scenery.cfg and so on.

And it also really depends. Sometimes P3D loads as it should without any problem and sometimes the loading screen get stucked on the auto generated scenery screen when loading a flight.

Thanks I did everything already but the lorby addon organiser not yet. I had some corrupt deleted sceneries paths in there which I deleted. Now everything is green expcet the Immersion Manager folder because the "Shaders" folder in "P3Dv5 / Parallel42 / Immersion Manager / Live" is missing (have no idea if that could be a problem).

Now for example I checked everything with the Lorby organiser as you mentioned, shutted down my computer, restarted it, started P3D and loaded a flight -> Auto generated scenery stuck at 72% as always. And actually it doesn't crash it just stays at 72% and I can see the CPU usage of the P3D process going down to 0%. It only closes when click 100 times on the loading screen. Than the "an error has occured" message is displayed where I end the P3D process.

Immidiately after I restarted the sim again without a windows restart or anything like that, loaded a flight -> works perfectly. No Stuck or anything else....

That is actually so strange

Hm, I realized that as_connect_v5.dll fault stands in nearly every line as a fault if I search for "as_connect" in the whole textfile.

But what has as connect to do with auto generated scenery?

Antivirus exception created for your P3d folder? Sometimes not having that has been known to cause problems.

Did it now. Already did that before but it's gone... probably in any update of the antivir. Thanks.
