Possible Problem with Working Title G1000

Featured Replies

I was flying the Bonanza today with the Working Title G1000 mod installed v0.3.2.   I tried to put a Direct To in the MFD but when entering the second letter of the airfield the MFD locked up.  Some of the buttons still worked but the DT function and the Map froze i.e. my aircraft symbol wasn't moving.  I have also tried this on the C172 and had the same problem.

Has anyone else noticed this problem after the recent MSFS updates.

We have had some scattered reports of this; it seems to possibly be tied to having Navigraph installed.   Can you confirm whether or not you have the Navigraph data?

Also, is there a way to predictably repeat this, eg using any one particular waypoint, or is it just intermittent and random?

We hope to be replacing the flight plan management system in all the avionics with our custom one soon, which should help remove or work around a lot of the bugs or flaws in the underlying stock system.

This problem is much older, I'm dealing with this a good while. Can't say when it occurred the first time for me. I never had enough time to find out whether the stock AP or Working Titles AP is causing it. @kaosfere : yes I was using Navigraph, only happens with direct to, not related to waypoints.

Yes I do have Navigraph Data installed current version AIRAC Cycle 2013 rev. 2.

In my case I fly in the UK and initially I was trying to select Direct To Bristol EGGD, when selecting the first G the MFD froze.  Second time was DT to Southampton EGHI, again selecting the 'G' MFD froze.

This also occurred the day before.

If I can help with any testing please let me know.

Install 2013 rev. 3. That bug was fixed in that revision.

I have not figured out how to update to a new revision in MSFS....

The Navigraph cycle, not MSFS.

That is what I was referring to. I finally figured it out.   Was starting the wrong navigraph app.  The app is buried in a very strange system location.  What is confusing is that the Navigraph Manager itself shows no indication of MSFS, and seems stuck at 2013.1.  I am not using Navigraph with the AS16 and LittleNavMap that appear in that .exe file.  I only grabbed Navigraph for use with MSFS.  My RXP GNS and GTN navdata experience from user to user sharing precludes the need there.

I also find that if I push the FPL button on the MFD, the MFD locks up at the FPL page.  The only way to recover seems to be toggling avionics power..

Is there another less intrusive way?

Bert

I have had the same lock up problems, but also with GNS530 so it seems to be the same bug in both.
