December 10, 20205 yr I would have loved to see footage of an F-14 creating rooster tails on the water, rather than just a famous painting.. I've seen footage of F-18s (Blue Angels) and mighty F-4 Phantoms too , but both of these are only briefly done before a pull-up, rather than generated by a shockwave. December 11, 20205 yr Author Aprently they checked hospital and press to make sure nobody was injured or missing. I mean the shockwave at 50 feet must have been intense. If the guy in the boat wasn't injured I'd be very surprised.

He used to fly Harriers, Also trained people to fly the Mach loop. Also flew Hawks. Now flies the Voyager tanker. Must admit, he's sent me some interesting photos of mishaps. No Mach 1.2 over fishing boats I know of though. But yes, these things must still occur. I think as the F14 mishap was over open ocean, and no complaints made, they got away with it.
