With enough headwind do we really need helicopters

Featured Replies

Yes we do need helicopters.

How else do you expect to practice your wizardry? 😝

That was a smoother and more precise landing than I could ever do in a helicopter.

Is it done yet? When will it be released? Will it be freeware or payware? How much will it cost? Any updates on the progress? Will it work for Xbox? Can I be a beta tester? How's the performance in VR?

That is a fun mod...

Absolutely no basis in any real life aircraft whatsoever, the 2000 fpm climb rate is insane, but outrageous fun.

it is actually quite aerobatic and great for Immelmann/loop/split-s/barrel rolls you name it

Hmmm, let me think.... Yes, we do, it's a completely different beach ...

No, but it's a credible imagining of a highly customized bush plane.  Nothing that's been done to it couldn't be done in real life by a sufficiently motivated person with enough money, and examples of planes in this vein, if not exactly like this, are plenty.  (Check out any extreme STOL competition videos on YouTube.)  GotGravel recently declined to put a stupidly large engine in this because it simply wouldn't be credible, but the engine modeled in the latest version is real and has been stuffed into a KitFox.   Our own @cavaricooper has spent a lot of time with this, too, and given them some advice on improving its tail-dragger characteristics.

So, yes, me flying this probably has about as much basis in reality as the prospect of me owning a TBM or one of the other bigger planes in the sim, but for one reason only:   I lack the money to dedicate to such an enterprise.  😂

True but certainly nothing from my local airfield performs like it and we have everything from biplanes to Citations 😄

More Savage Cub silliness ... a 25 second circuit -  the landing is a bit bouncy and slightly off the centreline but it was only my second attempt.
