January 5, 20215 yr Aircraft with an average cruise speed of 170kts would be good. Add the requisite faff time and we should be OK for our allotted 3 hours. Starting at GVAN we'll be skipping over the ocean like a stone. (Mmm, good line that, I'll see if I can use it. Maybe in a song.) our final landfall will be BRV, a challenging approach for those that haven't been there previously. 😒 As far as MSFS is concerned there are a couple of freebie airports to add a small flourish, but don't get too excited! They are: Amilcar-Cabral and Aeropuerto-internacional-nelson-mandela Incorporated as an overseas department of Portugal in1951, the islands continued to campaign for independence, which they achieved in 1975. Since the early 1990s Cape Verde has operated as a stable representative democracy, and remains one of the most developed and democratic countries in Africa.(You don't get to hear that very often!) Flight plans HERE (A word of warning, it'll a tad boring for you if you fly this before Saturday. Suggest departure time circa 13 o'clock so that arrival is at sunset. There are a couple of longish legs over water so bring a book! January 5, 20215 yr Nice pic Ron. Have you noticed how every screen cap from MSFS looks like the best we used to see from the pros in other sims? i7-6700k • Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD5 • 32GB DDR4 2666 • EVGA FTW ULTRA RTX3080 12GB

January 7, 20215 yr Author Great flight with scenery that is and I don't use this word very often, stunning! The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
January 8, 20215 yr Author The post above is in entirely the wrong thread. Shoot! The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
January 9, 20215 yr This flight is - as usual on Saturdays - for all simulators, right? And a word of caution: As for the CJ4, the TBM930 will not work properly with the G3000 Mod and some liveries. The Coast Guard livery I selected for today makes the airplane to fly in a constant 10 degrees of bank when on AP. With a stock livery everything is fine... Regards Gunter Schneider

January 10, 20215 yr Well, that was just excellent. The islands were new, varied, and interesting in their physical presence. And the addition of 25kts surface winds made for some fascinating landings. 😎 --Mike MacKuen
January 10, 20215 yr Author Thank you Mike. You've no idea how difficult it was to arrange those winds. Pleased they worked out. 🙂 The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
January 10, 20215 yr Winds were certainly too much for the Mooney in a couple of cases. Full rudder deflection and it still weather-vaned off the runway. i7-6700k • Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD5 • 32GB DDR4 2666 • EVGA FTW ULTRA RTX3080 12GB

Sounds like an acute lack of skillz to me. Don't worry though, it will get better. Hang in there. 😀 The World is divided into two groups. January 10, 20215 yr Got plenty of practice on cross-control technique in the Seneca. Definitely helped to sharpen the skillz. Thanks for the itenerary!
