I suspect he’s a teenager obsessed with showing off

Especially when the thumbnail shows a Tomcat, which isn't available for the new sim yet, therefore clickbait which only gives leverage to your theory.

The author disputes my post and to prove me wrong he posts another video of an aircraft flying at 930kts at 4,000ft. I’m not going to bother working out the Mach speed as it’s a ludicrous claim.

If MSFS has a military jet could someone please try this and report back. Or is it only possible with a hacked FSX aircraft?

The IndiaFoxtecho Aermacchi MB-339 is a military jet trainer available for MSFS on SimMarket.

Well this chap is flying an F-15. Can that be bought?

The reviews of the 339 on SimMarket suggest it has a max speed of 280-300kts. So not capable of supersonic flight.

Just Flight have announced an F15 for MSFS and in the blurb they say this...

While supersonic flight is not yet possible in Microsoft Flight Simulator due to their hard-coded limit for "Modern" flight models, that is the only barrier - the Eagles should all be capable of Mach 2.5 once the barrier is removed.”

So there you have it. Our friend is using trickery and a hacked aircraft.

The 339 is subsonic, but yes it's a military jet..

Regarding the video:

I would have thought that flying any aircraft so far into its Vne barberpole?? would result in its destruction and therefore be not at all valid. Did he have crash detection turned off? Is there no overstress in MSFS? This is a hacked plane though...

I did look this up.

https://www.engineersedge.com/physics/speed_of_sound_13241.htm

If one uses the entry for 5000 feet at 5.1 degrees celsius OAT then 930 knots = M1.43 so 1.44 at 4000 seems in the ball park for REAL numbers. However, this is in a civilian sim for videogamers, with a hacked aircraft... I am of course not familiar with the area being overflown with that "death wobble" oscillation so couldn't visually time the plane to see if it was covering 17.8 miles per minute.

Mark, I’ve seen enough to confirm supersonic flight is not possible in MSFS until the option is enabled. Until then don’t believe all you see on YT. 😁 Not that you needed telling that! 😉

I take it that is a hacked aircraft and illegal.

Ray, totally agreed! I was corroborating (wow big word for me!) evidence that it was a hacked plane.

Regarding legality - I don't know where the model came from - it probably is illegal and whilst an individual can make such things for their own personal use it should definitely not be public. Do you wish me to remove the link?

Leave it there Mark as it, together with our comments, shows it up for what it is. Fake news! 🤣

LOL! A lot of trouble gone to, only to end up downloading and condemning the wrong plane.........

I haven't seen any other MSFS military jets for sale. Most are FSX models, poorly converted for MSFS "personal" use.
