It's not every airport, but many, and I have no idea what causes it or how to fix it. The other issue I have is pauses/stutters that happen when my GPU, CPU, are coasting at around 65% or so GPU and 30% or so GPU. In every case I have available RAM and VRAM, and no or little disk activity, and little network activity. It's like something is blocking the use of system resources. I know this doesn't necessarily compare with the OP's problem...but maybe related - heck I don't know. It's frustrating, because I mostly see pretty good performance running MSFS. This this this!!! I have been dealing with the same issue and it has been driving me freaking nuts. I'm running a 9900k OC 5GHz with a 2080ti and 32GB RAM. No other issues with any other sims/games and even then, I'm not reproducing this on every flight or with every aircraft in MSFS. Not saying I wont test that theory in a last ditch effort, but just seems unlikely. Which "this", the repeating skip every second, or the GPU/CPU coasting while getting low fps? i7-6700k • Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD5 • 32GB DDR4 2666 • EVGA FTW ULTRA RTX3080 12GB
February 2, 20215 yr If by hard stutter you mean pauses ranging between 0.5 to 2 seconds I´ve got those nearby Los Angeles downtown nearby the skycrapers. Tried everything from 1440p to 1080p , medium, high, ultra, mixed settings, doesn´t matter (specs laptop i7 10750h, 2060, 16gb, 512 nvme, 240Mbps link). Some said to disable traffic (which I use the live option) or photogrametry but I refuse to do that, we didn´t purchased 90% of the product. Performance should be adjusted on settings and not cutting features. Haven´t tried other heavy places like Miami or Melbourne like other said but I don´t get this problem elsewhere. FPS may dip sometimes to 25 or less, specially in heavy fog but it´s smooth overall, I´m limited by GPU 100% of the time. If you´re limited by main thread the simulator will be affected more evidently by external factors like antivirus, background processes, experiment halting those for a moment, but since that doesn´t seem to be your case giving you specs so try some alternate measures like pluging it to ethernet cable, disabling addons and such, drivers 457.51. That advanced VFR map was causing stutters for quite some people on the microsoft forums. Edited February 2, 20215 yr by tchiari
February 2, 20215 yr I also have these hard stutters, tried a lot of settings with and without rolling cache, traffic etc. they are always there. System is running smooth with FPS from low 40's on KLAX with everything maxed to 60's on smaller fields. I am tweaking all my years of simming and will keep doing this to resolve these nasty buggers 😁 Rig Specs; CPU AMD Ryzen 9950X3d, GPU 5090 32gb, Memory 64GB 2x32 CL28 , WD-SN710 Black 500 GB, WD-SN710 Black 2TB, MSI x870XeTomahawk, Be Quit Straight power 1200 Watt platinum.
