Well, since August, I have had to reinstall several times for various reasons. Now, if you have the boxed version, you have to reinstall all the CDs and you cannot jump ahead of that. The Premium deluxe box takes 3+ hours to install.

It provides a default in the multi-layered user directories but I just chose c:\MSFS. This folder now contains my Community folder and the Official folder (one above Onestore). If you make a backup of the Official and Community folder, then uninstall MSFS, then do a clean install but when the installer asks where you want it installed choose a folder like I did rather than the default. Once you have done that and it starts to install then pause/crash out of the installer. Copy over your backup and run the installer again. Job done.

I guess next time I will install into a shorted file structure.

Ouch never thought about the box version guys. At least you get an arm workout during the process haha.

Isn't this what our community is about, helping others.

I hope it wasn't me who was flaming the post, if it seemed that way it was unintentional. I was only trying to imply and add to the OP that deleting the OneStore folder and replacing it with a back-up copy is a un-necessary step. The OneStore folder is basically read-only, the Install manager keeps it constantly in good health and up-to date. Therefore it is not needed to delete this folder.

I guess my question is - why are you reinstalling? If you are updating you don't want to copy the old files over the new ones. Same thing if you are reinstalling because of corruption. I really can't think of any benefit to do it that way.

But isn't that how almost all Youtube videos are nowadays?  Subscribe and smash a bell BS.  And the accents of most Youtube people are so strong...OMG.  Use proper English and pronounce the words correctly.
