Maybe you didn´t suffer through this thread between Jarmstro and mSparks (which should LONG AGO have gone to private messaging) like the rest of us have, but so far we are not even yet at the "simply install from Steam" level - we are still at the "install a working OS" level 😂

Sure, it may not be for everyone, but it sure is eye opening on the process involved. Regardless of the outcome, some really knowledgeable people in the community are guiding a Linux newbie install X-Plane, I think it's pretty neat.

What's the difference between this and helping someone develop scenery, install planes or hardware etc... this is just much more involved but the end result is the same, get a working version of X-Plane.

I don't read every topic in a forum either, only ones that I'm interested in. 😉

What does 'media' mean? The disk? Do I type /dev/ssd2/ or just /ssd2/? This seems insanely hard!

given the photos can you please just type it in full so I  can copy and paste it into the terminal? I'd appreciate it.

"media" is where it mounts the drives

Sorry what i wanted to say is if your drive is mounted then it should be under :

"/media/jarmstro/"  this is the location where ubuntu mounts

so

ln -s /media/jarmstro/X-Plane\ 11/Custom\ Scenery/  /home/jarmstro/X-Plane\ 11/   (Or if you install XP under just "/home/X-plane\ 11"

OK let me check that it's mounted. I assume it is because it can read it's contents and I can manipulate its files.

So close but so far. At least it did put a link in the XP folder. The path to the Windows drive cannot be correct.

Yes. I have an option to unmount it.

It's either /dev/sdd2. Or it's Disk1.

We are so close.

That's why i have been asking for screenshot , if the disk is mounted then the link will not break
