SLLP La Paz P3D v5.1 Installation

Featured Replies

Hello,

I downloaded SLLP from the library here

I was wondering if this can be installed in P3d v5.1. I installed but it is still showing the default airport buildings. The new scenery was placed at the top of the scenery priority list.

Any kind soul could tell me if this can be fix so it can run on P3d v5.

Many of the exclusions for default buildings and signage in sceneries designed for FSX and/or P3D v1-4 no longer work because the updated airports included in V5 have moved the objects.

You can use Airport Design Editor to create new excludes for the v5 default objects by importing the stock building and sign objects and then deleting them in ADE (which creates a small exclusion rectangle for each of the objects).

iniBuilds has an exclusion file for the commercial LatinVFR scenery. I see no reason, why an exclusion file should not work for the freeware.

If you search in the scenery folder for OBX29370.bgl and rename it to OBX29370.bgl.off the default v5 buildings will disappear and the freeware scenery should show. Doing this is quick but bear in mind it may affect other objects included in the bgl. I have done this a few times at other airports and frankly worked perfectly and didn't notice any changes.

Thank you for the replies. I was able to make work by deleting the buildings like Bob suggested but I also had to disable the OBX29370 bgl like Joaquin mentioned. There was also some scenery elements bleeding thru so I had to adjust the airport altitude to the same height as the original.

Thanks a lot for the help. I'm considering getting the old LatinVFR scenery and do the recommended changes like Dan suggested whenever it goes on sale.

By the way the first flight I was at MTOW and overran the runway. LOL

has anybody tried this with the old LVFR scenery?  I'm just curious.  A 13,000ft elevation seems very interesting to me.

It works, but with some compromises.  It's pretty ugly at night--the FSX-era photoscenery of the city at night glows red like an active lava flow in P3D.  In daytime, it's better, but still pretty blurry.  When taxiing out to the end of rwy 28, the autogen buildings at the perimeter of the airfield boundary disappear just as you round the corner approaching the hold line.

To make it work in P3Dv5 I first installed it into a fake FSX folder, then moved the scenery and texture folders to a folder in my P3Dv5 external scenery folder and added it manually to my scenery library with Lorby-SI's P3D addon manager.  I moved the SLLP_ADEX_ADE_ALT.BGL altitude correction file from scenery\world\scenery to the SLLP scenery folder and renamed it to _SLLP_ADEX_ADE_ALT.BGL (so that it's seen first), and moved the agn files installed in the faux FSX scenery\world\texture to the P3Dv5 scenery\world\texture folder.  I removed the jetway bgl (LPBjetwaysFS9.bgl) and the landclass (LC_2937.bgl) file because it conflicts with OpenLC South America, and then edited the ADE file to reset the taxi draw flags and remove the P3Dv5 stock objects and taxi signs.  Last, I added some GSX jetways and custom-placed ground support.

It's worth looking past the legacy scenery warts because operating to/from a field at 13,300 elevation is, well, unique.  I flew embassy support runs into there in the C-141 and then later diplomatic support missions in the C-20 (Gulfstream III/IV).  In the Gulfstream, you have to do some nonstandard things to keep the pax O2 system from automatically hanging the rubber jungle in the back when the cabin gets to 10,000 ft pressure altitude, something sure to make the VIPs in the back just a little cranky...
