March 10, 20215 yr The first episode of Picard was rather good and me, my daughter and my son were quite enthusiastic. However... the rest of the episodes were absolute garbage. Awful characters, bad acting, badly written and apparently Captain Picard has now become an utter wimp of a man who wouldn't say boo to a goose. And oh yes, 7 of Nine is now gay. Sorry, but anything Alex Kurtzman puts his hand to is destroyed. And get this, who did they employ as a writer? Yep, that Michael Chabon guy, the guy that said "I don't get science fiction". I live in hope that season two will be better... a lot better. Bring back Deep Space Nine I say along with all of the original writers. Better to just rewatch the real Picard in some old TNG. Well I did watch the entire season and will indeed watch season two, for 4 reasons. 1. Hoping it will improve. 2. It's science fiction and even bad science fiction is still science fiction. 3. I can attempt to ignore the doggy poo and latch onto the bits I enjoy. Takes discipline, trust me. Although I do allow myself to pause and utter a few profanities occasionally, usually at the SJW stuff that's unnecessarily shoe horned in. And the Romulans that now have ears like elves from Lord of the Rings. 4. I'm a liar and some episodes weren't too bad.
