March 30, 20215 yr As a test, I've turned online funtionality off, set all traffic (boats/planes/cars) to off, static traffic to off, turned off rolling cache - basically as low of settings I could select. There was a notable decrease in CPU and GPU usage (was less than 1/2 % usage prior, now even less), however my frame rate remained somewhere between 10 and 20 - hovering around 17 or 18 on average. I don't get it.

I don't get it. This game has some serious problems in my opinion, most of which has been brought on by the last two updates. I just finished reading some of the thousands of posts on the MSFS forum on CTD's and performance issues. Some of these people, a few who are IT people, have tried just about everything to fix the CTD problems with zero success. Reinstall windows, purchase new GPU, purchase new PC, Reinstall MSFS 2020, adjust this, tweak that, and nothing is fixed. They all mention that these problems didn't start until the last two updates. Many of them have stated that they are going to take a vacation from flying MSFS 2020, until these bugs are fixed. Quite a few can't even start the game, when they hit the Fly button, it crashes to desktop. I have had this happen at least a half dozen times myself, but adjusting my page file size as at least fixed that for me. I am lucky, others have not been successful no matter what they tried.
March 30, 20215 yr I reloaded the sim with mostly medium graphics settings. I decreased shadows and reflections, left LOD at 100. The only thing I left off was internet usage. I turned all of it off. No multiplayer, no traffic, no Bing data etc. My CPU/GPU and RAM usage was roughly the same as it had been (slightly less than 1/2 capacity in general) yet my frames were back to the 30fps range. Based on this, I suspect something related to online data usage somehow. I find it strange that the beginning of the flight produced normal (for me) frame rates, and some point within the first hour, it dropped 10-15 frames, flying at 7000 ft on a route I had taken recently. (it should have still been in rolling cache). I read somewhere flying over water had an impact, but I did not see any difference there. Very odd.
