April 24, 20215 yr Dialing back settings a bit and perhaps increasing the rolling cache to 64Gb has let me re-fly this incredible flight sim. I continue to be awestruck at just how good it is. Just landed my new favorite Citation L at KPSP. Nice to see they fixed loading an approach procedure w/o the need to do a DirectTo first. My sense is the rendering process has been shifted slightly to the right, i.e., what was previously High, is now a little closer to Ultra from several releases back, such that I was fooled into thinking prior settings *should* work identically as they did. I now need to set a few more settings at High than previously, but it still looks fantastic! April 25, 20215 yr Moderator Finding the sweet spot for your system is always rewarding. Biggest gripe is the possibility of having to hunt for it after every update. 🙂 RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
April 25, 20215 yr I have to agree, the sim looks great, I have just completed a flight from EGBE (Coventry) to GCLP (Grand Canaria) via Bilbao and Gibraltar in the NextGen Embraer EMP-110PI Bandeirante . Everything set to ultra, sync locked to 30fps, no stutters and no problems at all. A nice aircraft to fly, handles very well. April 25, 20215 yr Yup it is going better now: Miami - Saint Marteen yesterday was good, then Saint Marteen - St Barth with something to say about some horrible visual artifacts on the coast. Then another good flight from Miami to La Guardia with the FBW 320. Only one annoyance: I had to shut down traffic approaching Long Island because the thing had literally become a slide show. All in all, if they don't break anything new with the oncoming updates (fingers crossed) it's going better here. A.

April 28, 20215 yr It is mindbogglingly good and I appreciate the characterization given the negatively that dogs many other threads. The only setting I put on ultra are clouds because only rarely do I fly low altitude VFR and spend all my time flying bigs through those beautiful clouds at high altitudes. Just me and the clouds. It's unbelievable how real they look now since that update that helped correct their pixelation. I especially enjoy cloud multi-layers and the random formations that never repeat like was ugly in FSX and with other sims. The Bing world it creates is also very enjoyable and amazes me.
