Anyone pick up the Orbx EA-7 yet?

Recommended Posts

Worth the money. But very trim-wheel intensive to fly. I find it odd that the trim tab feels like it has more elevator authority than the elevator itself. But nicely modelled and a lot of fun flying slowly over an interesting landscape (with fingers working trim buttons furiously). Worth buying: I think so.

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

I thought the deadzone of my joystick got larger by itself. Very strange. Still, the elevator is moving, but the aircraft doesn't react unless you really pull the stick.

There is a thread running over in MSFS forum covering that, among other things. Orbx are monitoring it & responding so an update will drop in the future.

Elevator definitely needs a fix (edit) no it doesn't, I think it was mostly a controller issue.

That's a pretty bad sign.

Can I just say how weird it is to see Orbx representatives on a forum besides their own helping out users?  What strange times we're in..

But it is a good thin IMO.  All for one and one for all.

Oh no doubt. It's just strange to see the company evolve from the way John ran things with an iron fist to something like this.. It's  a good thing no doubt

Actually, with a bit of faffing about in the sim, you can find a setting which sorts it out for my controller, so scratch that complaint about the elevator, I'm more inclined to blame my HOTAS stick for that issue than the plane itself.

There was already a great free Optica and with such a simple aircraft I have to wonder what the payware version brings.

A guarantee that it will be updated to work with patches, since it is payware.

Oh boy. Not sure how this airplane flies IRL, but in MSFS I call it Stalltica - superundepowered aircraft with longitudinal stability problems! 🙂
